Gay Shops in West Hollywood: The Honest 2026 Guide

The honest summary: WeHo's queer retail has shrunk. LASC closed in 2019 and the Andrew Christian store in 2017, and the brand itself ended in 2025. What's left on Santa Monica Boulevard is a handful of gear, gift and adult shops, all within walking distance of the bars.

The shops

    • 665 Leather (8722 Santa Monica Blvd) has made leather and fetish gear locally since 1998. As of October 2026 Google shows a different adult store at 8722, so the storefront may have moved; check 665leather.com first.
    • Circus of Books West (8861) was called Chi Chi LaRue's until 2022. It's a gay-owned adult boutique with toys, gear, underwear, zines and art.
    • Circus of Books (8230) carries the famous name from the Netflix documentary. It reopened under new owners in 2020 as an adult boutique and gallery.
    • Block Party (Santa Monica Blvd at Larrabee) sells Pride gear, underwear and gifts all year.
    • Out of the Closet (8224) is AIDS Healthcare Foundation's thrift store, open 10am to 7pm daily. Its profits fund HIV care.

    Tips

    • The shops cluster at two points: the 8700-8900 block among the bars, and the 8200 block at the east end.
    • Before Pride and Halloween, costume and harness stock sells out. Go early in the week.
