With Wilson de Santos, “A Noviça Mais Rebelde” is back in Brasília and celebrates 17 years of success — it's become a habit!
About the event
A Noviça Mais Rebelde is back in Brasília for 2 exclusive performances at Teatro dos Bancários. The show has toured Brazil with over 700 performances and has been seen by about 700,000 people in over 40 cities. In São Paulo alone, there were more than ten seasons, in the theaters Renaissance, Raul Cortez, and Santo Agostinho. In Rio de Janeiro, there was a four-month run at Teatro Leblon in 2010.
In the play, actor Wilson de Santos — who was part of the theatrical phenomenon “A Bofetada” — plays Sister Maria José, a nun who sings, dances, and tells stories of her spicy past to interact with the audience while waiting for the Mother Superior, who promised her a standout number in a benefit show. The performances of A Noviça Mais Rebelde will be on August 29th and 30th, at Teatro dos Bancários, at 8 PM on Saturday and 7 PM on Sunday.
Sister Maria José is one of the original characters from the musical “Noviças Rebeldes,” an Off-Broadway success called “Nunsense,” by Dan Goggin, directed by Wolf Maia with Cia Baiana de Patifaria. A Noviça Mais Rebelde is a creation of Wilson himself. In the play, the hilarious nun who was relegated to the role of stagehand for lacking talent – and for having too irreverent a personality – returns trying to prove once again that her faith can coexist with the spotlight and the audience's applause.
