Au 108 rue Vieille du Temple", collective exhibition at David Zwirner
About the event
Photo: Disclosure
Forty years after the inauguration of Galerie Yvon Lambert at the same address, on September 20, 1986, David Zwirner occupies the Le Marais space with a group exhibition celebrating this heritage. The show brings together international artists to highlight the connections between the two gallery programs — Lambert's and Zwirner's — both marked by an artist-centered approach and intense transatlantic exchange between Paris and New York, which shaped Lambert's historical trajectory. In an interview with Flash Art, the gallerist summarized his philosophy by saying that opening a gallery requires only space and the best artists, those who bring something genuinely new. The project initiated by Lambert, now led by his daughter Ève, continues at 14 rue des Filles du Calvaire, where it houses a bookstore, publisher, and exhibition space.
