About the event

Plaster panels covered in waste from the artist's own work process and silver leaf, left to oxidize for about ten years, form the core of the German artist Felix Schramm's third solo exhibition at RIBOT. In “The Skin of Time,” the artist — born in Hamburg and based in Düsseldorf — continues the “Dark Site” series by treating time as an active force in the work: oxidation continues to transform the surface even after it is exhibited, while mirrored elements interrupt the plane and incorporate the surrounding space, blurring the line between physical presence and optical illusion. On the gallery's ground floor, these pieces dialogue with a recent sculpture from the “Accumulation” series — a crumpled copper sheet suspended by a strap over a plexiglass pedestal emptied of its original function, now a receptacle holding a fragment of matter on a mirror. On the lower floor, a new batch of “Dark Site” works from 2026 introduces an intense red into the plexiglass box, evoking the body and its vulnerability without ever becoming figurative, alongside an installation from the “Intersection” series that breaks with architecture as a stable structure. The exhibition also includes a special project of ten new small-scale pieces, close to A4 size.
