DIGO Goiás — International Film Festival (Goiânia)

DIGO, Goiás state's international film festival on sexual and gender diversity, has been running for twelve editions in Goiânia. Cristiano Sousa, the director, has spoken openly about the funding struggles of a queer festival in Brazil.

The 2026 edition took place from 18 to 21 June, with screenings split between Goiânia's Centro Audiovisual da Funai and Cine Cultura, and Anápolis's Cine Prime. Over 50 films were shown, selected from nearly 800 entries. This year's festival also introduced a youth section and one for AI-made films. Tickets were available through Sympla, and screenings were restricted to those over 18.

In 2025, the festival ran in late July and was free.
A bill to make DIGO an annual June event in Goiânia's official calendar was awaiting the mayor's signature in May 2026.
