Tropical Executive Hotel

A sensational hotel. It has a privileged setting. But it needs to better train the staff who greet customers who arrive from the street towards the hotel. I found the approach a bit pretentious, almost as if it were prejudice.

My stay at this place was an extremely negative experience. To begin with, the advertising is misleading: this is not a professionally managed hotel; instead, each room has a private owner, which completely affects the quality of service and guest care. The condition of the property is unacceptable. I have attached photos as evidence, but here is a summary of the main problems: Critical lack of maintenance: The roof has obvious leaks and bulges, which is a sign of serious structural problems. Deteriorated furnishings: The kitchen cabinets are disassembled and in poor condition. Hygiene and general condition: The state of the facilities reflects a lack of basic maintenance and upkeep. I do not recommend this place under any circumstances. The lack of centralized management makes it impossible to get solutions to basic problems. If you are looking for a safe, clean place that delivers on its promises, look elsewhere.

The check-in service at reception is very slow. The receptionists seem to be under duress.

It's a nice and clean hotel, but everything is a bit dated. What bothered me most was the VIP area, as they closed off the lobby and all the elevators.

I have a very special emotional connection with the Tropical Executive and the history of the former Hotel Tropical. Whenever I come to Manaus, I am always treated extremely well by the people of Manaus, for whom I have enormous affection and admiration. Therefore, the episode I experienced today caused me even more surprise and frustration. Due to weather conditions, my flight was canceled by the airline, which promptly accommodated me at the hotel using a voucher. From the very beginning, I made it clear to the staff that my new flight was only at 7 pm and that, if there was any discrepancy between the voucher time and my stay in the room, I would pay the difference without any problem. I explained this to one employee. Less than an hour later, I had to explain it again to another person. And, shortly after, I was approached by a third employee in an extremely rude, arrogant, and unnecessarily aggressive manner. The employee claimed that he had called the room several times and that I had "turned off the phone," even though the room phone wasn't even working—something I had already tried to report previously. The tone used was completely incompatible with the standard of hospitality I have always associated with Tropical. At no point did I resist. Quite the contrary: I made myself available to immediately resolve any financial or operational issues. In fact, the airline itself later advised me to pay the difference and request a refund later. What bothers me most is not the charge itself—that would be perfectly understandable. The problem was the manner in which it was handled. Education, empathy, and common sense should never be absent from the hotel industry. I continue to consider Tropical Executive an important landmark in Manaus and I still have great affection for the hotel and the city. But experiences like this show how the attitude of a single employee can completely compromise the feeling of welcome built up over years.

The hotel has a surreal view, but it's abandoned! The staff is completely unprepared and rude, except for one or two employees. The cleaning service is terrible; in the first room we stayed in (we had to change rooms because the air conditioning was noisy, and they left some t-shirts in one of the drawers), there was a cockroach left on the balcony for 4 days, and there was water infiltration in the second room. And to top it off: the change was only offered because there was no hot water on the first day due to a broken part in the chair; it was only restored on the second day, and then broken again on subsequent days. Honestly, there are cheaper and better options. A 5-star hotel that's struggling to get a 3-star rating.

In the commercial hotel sector, all professionals are qualified, however, when it comes to managing the condominium, it's terrible.

Business hotel equipped with every comfort and luxury. Nice restaurant and continental breakfast, beautiful view of the city and beach.
