Our Habitas Atacama

Lovely experience! I stayed for 2 nights here and everything is wonderful, considering what we can get from a desert. The room is fine, with hot water 24h (not sure but at least to midnight). Location is the best, we can do stargazing inside the hotel and see the entire Milky Way arch from the backyard. The hotel itself worth a day to chill out. I really enjoyed the service here, everyone is friendly even if I do not speak Spanish, and helps whenever needed. Santiago helped me throughout my stay with bookings, check-in & check-out, showing me places to play around, and translating during activities. Restaurant is amazing as well, thoughtful drinks and foods, with welcoming people. They offer firewood at night, and they know a lot about the ingredients used here. Highly recommend!

The Reception team needs to smile a lot more, especially Supervisor Alex. I had problems with Reception because they were checking me out before my departure date, a very unpleasant experience with the team coming to my room and asking me to leave with my luggage. Therefore, the two people from the Habitas Atacama team who saved my stay were Luiz, the Team Runner at the restaurant, who was very kind, friendly, and anticipated the client's needs, and Loreta from the Spa, who was very professional with the different treatments.

Beautiful property, good location just outside the town. However, the rooms are by no means up to 4-star standards, especially not the so-called suite. The rooms are very sparsely furnished and outdated.

Special shout-out to Oscar and Alexander for taking such great care of me during my stay. They were incredibly helpful and responsive, and always did their best to assist with anything I needed. I especially appreciated how flexible they were with my early check-in, as well as their thoughtful advice on how to manage the altitude. Also, many thanks to Bryan and Alexandra from the restaurant and bar team. They always welcomed me with a smile, the food was delicious, and I really enjoyed the bar workshop. I’m so happy I got to learn how to make a Pisco Sour, it was such a fun and memorable experience. It’s an easy 10-12 walk to town center, but they can easily help you to arrange taxi as well!

We stayed a full 5 days at the property, which feels more like a quaint village based on its expansive layout, pretty pathways, super lush landscaping and room privacy. It's a treat to wake up and take an easy stroll to the restaurant on site. Excellent bar service, decent menu variety (love the fresh guacamole and empanadas!) and outstanding daily breakfast. Sure, service can be slow at times (my hunch is the bottleneck is in the kitchen based on volume) but the staff was consistently and sincerely caring about making it a nice experience. We took full advantage of joining the complimentary Pilates and yoga classes, led by super skilled instructors who delivered 5-star sessions. As for paid extras, we also indulged in a facial and massage - again, delivered by professional, skilled experts right there on the premises without leaving. If you're game, a local 'shaman' offers a traditional ceremony inside a little hut located at the wellness center. A cleansing exercise, she created a steam room over a super hot, thick smoke fire we all huddle around sitting on mats on the ground (little too hot & smoky, but she did crack the tent door so I was able to stick it out!). Drumming and song included. Was pretty spectacular but must have an open mind. :-) It was a true indigenous experience all managed professionally there on site! We're thankful the staff helped us with outside excursions, including connecting us to trusted Uber drivers when needed. We felt very secure, for when we were picked up by other tour operators, they were required to ring for us. Then, the hotel recorded our absence, giving peace of mind there was some oversight if we didn't return. We were picked up at 6 am, and there was a guard at the gate standing with us (not that it's needed but anywhere in the world at a remote place in the dark, nice to have that!) The pool is a dream, featuring comfy chaise lounge chairs and sitting areas with couch beds and bamboo coverage from the sun in some spots. We saw it cleaned meticulously every morning. Large pool towels always available. Cocktails and food from restaurant brought to you poolside! Pro Tips: Be sure to ask if your room has AC. Not all do and not sure if we would have had as nice of an experience without that. Frankly we were shocked to find our first room didn't have AC, but they volunteered to swap to another, which we appreciated deeply. In February, the town features their traditional carnival celebrations that can run ALL NIGHT with drumming and merrymaking. So plan accordingly! There was a carnival hall directly across from our room that kept us up 2 nights, but hey, part of the adventure. We were guests during this traditional event, but will time it better in the future. We felt safe here, valued and looked after by a genuinely kind, professional and caring team! Would return and recommend. Great job, team!

I highly recommend it without hesitation. Reception was fantastic, a very high standard. The restaurant was exquisite and the service was excellent.

Best hotel in San Pedro. Best restaurant in San Pedro. Simple as that

Stayed 8 nights. Returned after a 1-night camping trip with two confirmed bookings. Reception (the woman with many star tattoos ) assigned incorrect room type without checking reservation, and response was dismissive (“not my problem”). No apology. Check-in took 30+minutes while visibly exhausted from trekking. For a $300+ per night property positioning itself as experiential hospitality, service did not meet expectations.
