Sami Atacama Lodge

We loved staying at this hotel, the atmosphere was like a family gathering, and we were greeted by cats and dogs. The jacuzzi was wonderful, and the staff were always friendly and attentive.

Length of stay: 7 nights (2025) Location: The guesthouse is located away from the center. To get around, you need to use the transportation offered by the hotel — which only operates at specific times — or walk about 30 minutes to the center of San Pedro. Rooms: The rooms are spacious and very clean. However, they do not have heating, which can be a negative point depending on the time of year, making the stay less comfortable. Breakfast: The breakfast is simple and prepared to order. Although limited, it is well made and tasty, thanks to the care of Juanita — a very friendly lady who makes the experience even better. Outdoor area: The outdoor space is large, full of beautiful and varied trees, as well as the presence of dogs and cats that roam the property. I loved getting to know the native plants and interacting with the animals. We did not use the pool, which did not seem very inviting. Courtesy: There is always hot water, tea, coffee and biscuits available in the breakfast area, as well as a mezzanine with books. It's very pleasant to sit outside, have tea, and enjoy the sunset, listening to the wind and observing the volcano in the background of the inn. Service: The inn seems to be run by a simple and welcoming family. The couple are kind and helpful. The girls who looked after the place were equally so. However, our experience was marred by one person in particular—who identified herself as Mari, and spent most of her time at reception or circulating around the property. Her consistently unfriendly attitude and manner of treatment made us uncomfortable and ultimately spoiled the experience. This was the deciding factor in my decision not to return.

Excellent service, excellent and plentiful breakfast. If you can't make it because you have excursions ahead, they'll make you toast upon your return to compensate. Clean, simple room, large bathroom. The only flaw is the shower, which you can't adjust the temperature. Location: a half-hour walk from the center.

Room was very clean, the bathroom was pristine. Free parking and the staff was very helpful. Very attentive and friendly. Definitely come here!

The service is incredible, they're really attentive and give you information about everything in the surrounding area. It's 6 minutes from the center and they have someone who takes you there and picks you up periodically. They also have adorable dogs and cats. I would definitely return. The rooms are very comfortable, as is the bathroom with hot showers 😊

We stayed at Sami Atacama for 4 nights. A family-run hotel with people who have lived in the region for over 20 years. Mari and Juanita are examples of hospitality and welcoming nature. Very kind-hearted people, even towards animals! Spacious and clean rooms, impeccable breakfast, and a cozy common area. We will miss the good conversations. They offer unlimited water and a shuttle service to the city center, which is very helpful! Note: ask Mari to explain about the plants, culture, ceramics, and local history: sensational!

The accommodation was incredible and contributed greatly to making our trip special. Comfortable rooms, an extremely calm and peaceful place, unlimited coffee and tea, a swimming pool, jacuzzi, hammocks, and adorable pets. A sensational stay, we are very satisfied with our choice! It's not that close to the main street, but they provide a car transfer service and you can schedule it in advance for both arrival and departure! We arrived before check-in and were able to leave our bags here and go out to eat. 10/10 experience! Thank you for everything!!!
