Escarabajo Hostel

I had the chance to stay at this hostel, and I would happily return—it's beautiful! Everything is super clean, it's very well located, the service is excellent, and the terrace is fantastic. 100% recommended!

Excellent place, it's popular with young people and everyone is very friendly. The neighborhood is quiet and safe, with views of the city's viewpoints that you won't find elsewhere. There are local shops nearby, an elevator close by, a well-equipped kitchen, privacy, and good internet access. It has the basics, but everything you need to disconnect and stay put. If you want to rest and unwind, this is the place for you.

Nice place, but the hostel manager came into the room to criticize whether the clothes were tidy or not; she shouldn't have been there. There was no toilet paper for a whole day.

BEWARE! The owner enters occupied rooms. She opened my door and scolded me for something I didn't do inside the room, but outside: smoking. I'm a patient with a prescription. She was so nosy, wanting to know where I was with my mother. Obviously, she only treats Chileans this way, because she doesn't say anything to foreigners. There's no staff, the owner is never there, and check-out is at an unusual hour. I complained that a couple had been arguing violently for hours and that a tragedy could happen, and she didn't even respond. The rooms have thin walls where you can hear everything. The bathrooms are filthy, and there's no soap in the shower. The faulty door adds unnecessary stress. She scolded me for being young and Chilean, but there was a couple smoking inside, and she didn't say anything to them because there's no staff. I've stayed in many hostels, and for the price, they should at least provide breakfast. The rooms are cold. The owner is untrustworthy; she enters your room if she thinks you're not there. The Wi-Fi is terrible.

It has private and shared rooms, everything is super clean with very comfortable and well-equipped common areas, and the kitchen has everything you need. It's close to shops, restaurants, and bars—ideal for spending your weekend in Valparaíso with friends.

Very spacious room, lovely courtyard, a little haven! The staff is friendly but not very present (reception was empty). Exceptional value for money!

Nice hostel for backpackers. Reasonably clean room and bathroom. Hostesses not easy to reach.
