Where to Stay in Lausanne: Hotels Near the Gay Scene (2026)
Lausanne has no gay hotel or gay guesthouse. The hotels below are mainstream places in sensible locations for the small scene. Same-sex couples won't have any trouble booking a double room anywhere in Switzerland. Marriage has been legal since 2022, and discrimination on grounds of sexual orientation is a criminal matter.
Where to base yourself
The scene is spread over three areas within walking distance of the station. Pink Beach sauna and Opéra 5 are on Avenue de Tivoli, below the station. MAD and MilkShake are in the Flon. Le Saxo and Pin Up are near Saint-François and the Cité. Anywhere between the station and the Flon works. The lakeside at Ouchy is prettier but a metro ride from the bars.

Central hotels
- Hotel Swiss Chocolate by Fassbind: Rue Marterey 15, a few doors from Pin Up and below the Cité. A chocolate-themed city hotel.
- Moxy Lausanne City: Rue de la Vigie 3, at the edge of the Flon and close to MAD. Small rooms and a bar-lobby check-in.
- ibis Styles Lausanne Center Mad House: Place de l'Europe 6, at the Flon metro hub. Bright rooms and a seasonal rooftop terrace.
- Hotel Palmiers by Fassbind: Rue du Petit-Chêne 34, between the station and Saint-François, a short walk from Le Saxo.
- Elite Hotel Lausanne: Avenue Sainte-Luce 1, just above the station and about ten minutes on foot from Avenue de Tivoli.
- Hôtel Agora Swiss Night by Fassbind: Avenue du Rond-Point 9, south of the station, with a focus on quiet rooms.
- Base Lausanne: Boulevard de Grancy 51, in the Sous-Gare district between the station and Ouchy.
- B&B Le Chalet d'Ouchy: Avenue d'Ouchy 49, near the lake. Small, with limited reviews.
- Zleep Hotel Lausanne-Chavannes: Chavannes-près-Renens, near the UNIL and EPFL campuses. Cheaper, but a metro ride from the bars.
- Hotel guests in Lausanne get a free Lausanne Transport Card for buses and the metro during their stay. Ask at check-in.
- Book early for Pride Romande years and big festival weekends. Prices are high all year.
- Geneva Airport is about 45 minutes away by direct train.
Outside the city
L'Auberge de Mézières (Jorat hills, about 15 km), Au P'tit Bonheur (Cheseaux, 8 km, LEB train) and Hameau du Montchervet (Puidoux, above the Lavaux vineyards) are village inns with rooms. They suit a quiet stay or a wine weekend, not nights out.
