The hotel is 4-star, but the service is 5-star. The pool is very clean. It's next to Calgary Tower.

Over-priced rip off of a hotel. I’ve been to smaller hotels in rural/northern communities with better services that don’t require you to pay astronomical fees for the bare minimum. Want to stream a show on your laptop? Not unless you want to use your phone data or pay for premium wifi. Pay for parking for the day? Actually, if you leave and come back you get charged again and we won’t mention that the “daily rate” is actually only for daytime hours, not 24 hours. The hot tub is closed for “servicing, maintenance and repairs” but we can’t tell you when it will be open again. The hand soap is disgusting and leaves a gross residue on your hands. The room service staff are the highlight of the hotel. All the cleaning service folks and food delivery staff were friendly, helpful and professional. More so than the front desk people.

I spent over $1000 a night for a one bedroom suite as I was travelling with my baby. The furniture and room was very dated and the bedroom where I put my daughter smelt like smoke. I did not find the room particularly clean at all with various stain on the furniture. The hallways smelt like sewer. Also, upon checking in, we waited over 30 minutes to check in. We get in the room and there’s no crib despite requesting the same when I booked the hotel. I call for the crib and was advised there’s no crib in the entire hotel. I was livid after a day of travel in a plane we could not stay there without a crib for my baby to safely sleep in. I go downstairs to speak with someone only to be made to wait again. They end up finding a crib after expressing my discontent and planning to move everything and everyone to a different hotel with a crib. They took care of the $60 breakfast per day we had and the $40 parking. In my opinion this was not enough for the experience. Fairmont typically does better than this which is why my husband is a silver member. $150-$200 off our stay doesn’t seem to enough to compensate for this experience. I don’t recommend. Perhaps this will help them make things better for the future. The one positive is that Fairmont beds and bedding are comfortable. The coffee and food from restaurant were satisfying. Definitely not the typical Fairmont experience and was very disappointed. I won’t be doing visiting this hotel again anytime soon.

As a Platinum member with Accor, having booked 120 nights in 7 countries, I often stay at the Sofitel or the Fairmont, Whistler and Lake Louise, for example. From the beginning of my stay, communication with this hotel has been difficult. Expedia shows me a lower rate, the app offers a price, and when I book directly, I'm quoted a higher price. Even worse, being a Platinum member, it's common practice in almost every country to offer me an upgrade, and here, after asking, I get the usual evasive answer: "We'll see when we get there," etc. In short, they've completely put me off coming, so I finally opted for a Marriott Bonvoy hotel, with much simpler and more responsive access, and a suite for half the price of the Fairmont. I've stayed at the Fairmont Whistler and Lake Louise and received exceptional service to celebrate my baby's 18-month milestone. Here, you're treated like just another customer. A huge disappointment.

My stay in this hotel was way too short. We only stayed one night and wish it was longer. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, always looking to make sure your needs are fulfilled.
