About this place Monarch Night Club

Monarch Night Club is Fredericton's — and New Brunswick's — only dedicated LGBTQ+ nightclub, at 474 Queen Street in the heart of downtown. It opened in June 2021, taking over the space and community role of Boom! Nightclub, the city's long-running gay club that closed in 2020. Monarch is Rainbow Registered through Canada's 2SLGBTQI+ Chamber of Commerce and hosts award-winning drag shows, karaoke and dance nights. By day the same space runs as the Monarch Drop-In Centre, an all-ages 2SLGBTQIA+ community hub offering peer support, including GAPS gender-affirmation peer support and all-ages drag. That dual role — nightclub by night, community centre by day — makes it the anchor of Fredericton's queer social life and a welcoming first stop for LGBTQ+ visitors to the Maritime capital.

I never leave reviews but I went to a "drag show" on Friday. Wasn't too busy. Drag queens were very rude and abrasive and cliquey.. The tall skinny one spit on me when I asked why she was sneering at me. Better off at a straight bar if this is how they treat you at the gay one. Update: The owner answered my review and asked for more information but didn't tell me how to contact them and then argued about capacity.
