The room was looked nice BUT the bathroom was so dirty and black mold in the tub! The walls and doors were so dirty 🤢 I don't recommend at all ! It was just street parking so took time to find parking...

This place deserves -5 stars.... it's dirty, smells, mouse poop in the room, I could hear the " lady" in the next room saying she smashed someone's face in...all while slurring her words....bed had hair all over the sheets. I was so grossed out that I couldn't even stop to complain at the front desk....I just walked out of the room and I was.lucky enough to get a much better hotel. Try calling and no one answered AVOID at all costs!!!!!

The only reason to give two stars is the staff so we’re all extremely welcoming, friendly, accommodating, etc. the motel itself was horrible. My room had a terrible, unidentifiable smell, the floors were sticky, there was zero soundproofing, they had a non-smoking policy yet somehow my room always smelled vaguely smokey (not sure if it wafted in from outside or other rooms). The whole building looked like it was falling apart, like they had started doing renovations but then just stopped. I stayed there because of the price point and location but feel I overplayed considering how awful the room was.

I have seen a lot of negative reviews for this place and wanted to leave my own experience. I stayed for 1 night this weekend as I was in town for an event. I have stayed at 4 star hotels, I have stayed at hostels, and everything in between. Unlike the experiences I seen on here, I did not hear or see any signs of mice or other critters. I got a room with 2 single beds for my friend and I. It was clean, fresh linen, had a mini fridge, microwave, and TV. We never used the microwave or TV, but the fridge was working great, storing our leftovers from dinner. It was in a great location with some cute shops down the road to explore. The staff was absolutely lovely, and I would definitely stay here again. It is a budget friendly option, so you are not going to get all of the bells and whistles of a higher-priced establishment, but it is clean and the staff was friendly and overall a good place to stay on a budget. The parking is my only concern, but that is downtown Halifax for you!

There was a mouse in my room. When I told the man at the front desk, he indicated that he would provide a refund for my hotel and for the parking, but when he realized that it had been booked through Expedia, he said he did not know how to process the refund. I was advised that I would be contacted with respect to the refund. I was never contacted and no refund was issued. Expedia advised me that the Commons Inn refused to grant a refund and that the Commons Inn had offered me an alternative. I had not been offered an alternative, in fact, as I mentioned, I had been offered a refund which was what I wanted.

I stayed at this hotel for four nights while I was at a conference. It is a terrible hotel. The room had no desk or chair, except for one small dining sitting chair. The internet did not work, although I asked about it several times. The room was adjacent to a flat-roof area where many pigeons roosted and they made noise in the morning beginning at 5 am. The room overlooked a backyard patio for a restaurant which was noisy, although the noise stopped at about 10 pm. The TV and phone did not work. The hotel was in poor shape and smelled. The location was good for the conference I was at but that is really the only thing positive I can say about it.
