Days Inn and Suites Winnipeg Airport, Manitoba

Hotel is in terrible condition. We checked in with a dog and when we arrived we were told they will see if anything’s available that’s pet friendly. We explained that we booked the hotel and made special note that we had a pet and called earlier in the day to confirm this. Regardless of this they said pets are only considered upon check in. So regardless of us already making note of that. Luckily they said they had one more pet friendly room available. Walking to our hotel room we noticed bugs crawling across the floor. We got to our suite and we were immediately mortified at the smell. The stench was a combo of cigarette and alcohol, like someone was living in the suite for years and left 2 minutes before we arrived. It was disgusting. Thankfully they accommodated this with an air freshener.. I genuinely don’t know what will touch that smell because the air freshener certainly didn’t. The breakfast was the worst I’ve ever experienced at a hotel. Juice is watered down by atleast 50% and the food seemed old. I tried a muffin and couldn’t even make it past one bite. Terrible! There was a pool onsite that we were looking forward to trying but after seeing the condition of the hotel and room we chose not to go to the pool as we assumed it would be just as dirty as everywhere else. Super unfortunate experience and upsetting to think of others who are paying decent money to have the same outcome.

I got a deal through hotels.com. I likely wouldn't have stayed here otherwise, and for full price at that. The room itself was passably clean but there were stains on the curtains and ceiling. Staff were professional. The breakfast wasn't desirable. If you want to stay in the St. James area, I would likely recommend a different hotel in the end.

Stay anywhere else

Clean enough hotel for the price. The Pool is small and dated but meets expectations. It’s a good value hotel. The Continental breakfast was as expected but some fresh fruit would have been nice.

We liked the bed, shower and that they actually had big bottles of shampoo instead of hotel bottles. We didn't like that we didnt have enough channels, lots of it was French. The room is really small. We had to ask for garbage bags cuz there wasn't any extras in the basket. Kinda thought it was silly to have only one regular coffee and one decaf. When there is 2 of us and we were staying for 2 nights. We had people standing by our window and being loud and smoking and the people above us were really loud for both days. We left a couple times on one of the days and tgere was a man sleeping quite hard in the dining area.

Front desk lady was super difficult to deal with. Otherwise, rooms are dated but it does the job. Noisy and everything can be heard in the halls and through the walls.

Good for the most part. Breakfast options were limited though.

Nice hotel

Despite the fact that there are two beds in one room, there was only one coffee pod. Very inconvenient for two adults who both enjoy a morning coffee. We called down and they brought some up to their credit. No waters available so I had to schlep down to the ancient vending machine which wouldn’t take half my change nor would it take bills. The shower has 2 temps, scalding or freezing.

We recently stayed at this hotel and found a small cockroach in our room. It appeared to be a juvenile. We reported it immediately. Instead of addressing the concern as a maintenance issue, we were told it may have been brought in by us. That is both inaccurate and disappointing. A baby cockroach indicates local breeding, as cockroaches hatch from egg cases laid within walls, plumbing areas, or structural spaces inside a building. This suggests an existing issue on the property — not something introduced by guests. We were also told that someone was brought in to inspect the room and “found nothing.” However, the presence of even one juvenile cockroach is itself evidence of a problem. Cockroaches reproduce quickly and typically do not appear as a single isolated baby without others nearby. What was most concerning was not just finding the insect, but the lack of accountability and the attempt to shift responsibility onto us. We did not bring anything into that room, and implying that we did is unfair. We are sharing this experience so others are aware and so the hotel takes appropriate responsibility for maintaining clean and sanitary accommodations.

Its fine, but the toilet paper is awful. Bring your own. Dont say you weren't warned. Also, very loud. Guy puking in his room 5 rooms over? Its like you are there holing his hair up. Dood talking on his phone on speaker? You know his timmys order now. Family from a different and earlier time zone running and yelling in the halls? Now their your family too. Our room smelled weird.
