About this place La Mariposa Hotel

La Mariposa is one of Manuel Antonio's original hilltop hotels, famous for having some of the highest, widest Pacific views in town. It's a gay-welcoming, centrally located stay near Plaza Vista, an easy walk or short ride from the bars, restaurants and beach access. Just returned from one of the MOST AMAZING stays at the La Mariposa! The room was HUGE with an INCREDIBLE view of Manuel Antonio Isthmus! I felt like I was I a movie and was ready for a Dinosaur walk by. 🤣 Upon checking in the Guest Service attendant Alan took such great care of me. He gave me a map of the area and circled the perfect beaches. La Mariposa is in perfect location. You are about a 20min walk down to Playitas or my favorite spot Playa Biesanz. Be aware the way down is easy back up not so much and wifi is hit or miss. So be prepared to walk half way and call a taxi/uber. There are plenty of restaurants, bars and a mini market within a 5min walk so convenient. The Pinnacle resturant attached had an amazing menu and view as well. I strongly suggest opting for the breakfast buffet. It was a great way to start my day & lived a homemade sweet treat before bed 😜 The pool there is STUNNING. I saw a pair of Maw-caws and monkeys playing in the trees simply magical. I will definitely be back.

La Mariposa Hotel is a gem tucked away at the entrance of Manuel Antonio National Park. It has the most stunning views of the ocean and the Park. Walking distance to many great restaurants with live music and a short shuttle ride to the beautiful beach with warm waters!! The staff is so wonderful and kind! The hotel has one of the best restaurants in town Le Papillion with amazing views and great food! If you’re staying in Manuel Antonio , this is the best hotel there . We had an amazing stay there and will definitely return !!

Stunning sunset views. Breakfast was delicious but would prefer a change in options when staying for more than 2 days. Dinner was outstanding. All the staff were friendly and helpful with booking tours and giving directions. My favorite was waking up to the howler monkeys calling out even if we couldn't spot them. For a beautiful quiet stay I would highly recommend. But do agree with other reviews the rooms could be updated slightly.

We absolutely loved the hotel. We went as a family. The pool is super spacious and heated. There's also a cooler one. The breakfast was excellent. And the staff was very friendly. The only downsides were the prices of the drinks and some ceviches we had. They were quite expensive. Also, there's no bar by the pool, and service ends at 4 pm.

The best thing about the hotel is the view; beyond that, I think it has many aspects that need improvement. The reception staff greets you listlessly, the breakfast isn't very varied and you have to chase the waiters to get coffee, the pool facilities need renovation, the bar gives you a complimentary drink but you can't choose it, they don't help you with your luggage at checkout, they don't leave anything complimentary in the room (not even a bottle of water), the toilet paper is barely enough... expensive for what it offers. The internet doesn't work well, nor does the TV...
