About This Event
Cancún Pride is the Pride march of Mexico's biggest beach resort, and the first thing to know is that there isn't one organizer. In 2026 two rival groups held separate marches: Cancún Pride Oficial, backed by Mexico's Alianza Nacional de Marchas LGBT+, marched on Saturday 16 May, after moving its date earlier to avoid clashing with other Pride marches in the state, and Cancún Pride Internacional marched on Saturday 6 June. Both ended downtown at Parque de las Palapas; the May march started at the Malecón Tajamar and went along Avenida Bonampak and Avenida Tulum.
That matters for visitors: the march happens in downtown Cancún, not the Hotel Zone, so you'll need a bus or taxi from the beach hotels. The June march finished with an evening festival from 6pm with local performers.
Cancún also opens Quintana Roo's Pride season. In 2026 marches followed in Isla Mujeres, Puerto Morelos, Cozumel, Puerto Aventuras and Playa del Carmen (28 June), with the last one in early July.
Numbers are modest. Local press counted more than 200 people at the May 2026 march; the June organizers expected more than 5,000, and we couldn't find a count from the day. The 2027 dates hadn't been announced when we checked, and it isn't yet clear whether the two groups will march separately again.
