About this place The Palm

The Palm Cabaret and Bar: a long-running gay venue on Olas Altas in Puerto Vallarta, a Mexican beach town popular with LGBTQ+ travelers. The place has a big indoor bar and a stage. But there’s also an outdoor terrace, if you’d rather sip your drink and watch the street scene than catch the show. They’re big on live acts here, with performers coming in from all over. If you're after more than just a quiet drink, this is where you'll find it: music, comedy, drag. Puerto Vallarta's gay scene is friendly and goes late. The Palm sits right in the middle of it, an easy walk from most places. It’s the kind of spot that sums up the town’s social, show-focused vibe for LGBTQ+ visitors.

Pros: we loved the Freddy Mercury show. It was a fun show with very talented performers. I’d highly recommend it! Cons: The woman at the front desk was very very unwelcoming. We had won two tickets at the Changing Lives fundraiser. I had called well in advance (more than 24 hours) to let them know we’d like to use our ticket for the following days 7pm show. Upon arrival she was immediately rude, and it felt like she was telling me I had lied about calling in to make the reservation. I finally showed her my call log to give proof. She was in a bad mood, and mentioned something about needing to “talk to” the employee who took my call. We were given admittance, begrudgingly. It left a bad taste in our mouths as we were so excited when we showed up. We also noticed a third of the theater was empty due to it being low season.

Went to see Freddie Mercury Queen performance at the Palm Cabernet with some friends and enjoyed the music, the atmosphere was comfortable and the staff were attentive and respectful, the performance had theatre dance and some seductive dance, I could tell the performers had fantastic dancing skills and the lead singers voice was impressive, also the stage clothing was beautiful.

Wow! Our family went to the Freddy Mercury show. I would recommend it to anyone! Our kids, 7 and 10, LOVED IT. They knew all the songs and the intimate performance blew them away. All dancers were fantastic, it was worth the money!

Every show I have been to at the Palm or Coco's has been a fun experience. What I really want to review is the management and customer service. They are 10 star!! We had tickets to the Palm for one of the productions and were unable to get there. They were the most accommodating in allowing us to change the date. They were super kind and understanding I can't say enough for this place.🎉🎉🎉
