Hotel Mercurio puts you in the middle of Puerto Vallarta's gay scene, with a relaxed vibe that's hard to beat.
You're only 150 meters from the beach here, right in the thick of the city center. That means easy trips to Puerto Vallarta's gay bars, restaurants, and nightlife, but also quick access to the beach. You get a taste of the local LGBTQ+ community, plus the broader coastal appeal of this popular Mexican beach town.
Every room has air-conditioning, a flat-screen cable TV, free Wi-Fi, and a safe. They're simple, comfortable places to crash after a day on the sand or out exploring the streets lined with gay-owned businesses.
Puerto Vallarta has been a draw for LGBTQ+ travelers for a long time. There’s a strong gay community here, and lots of welcoming spots all over town. Being this central means you can walk to most things, and you're still steps from Mexico's Pacific coast. I feel obligated to provide a review of Mercurio, as it was home for me for many weeks, namely during Covid. Mercurio is a hotel in the heart and soul of Vallarta. If someone were to ask me what one of the most genuine & caring businesses was in this town, it would be Hotel Mercurio. Paul and his staff have been exemplary in giving back to the community, providing Covid tests during 2020/2021 as well as opening up its doors for vaccinations free of charge. Every event I attended at Hotel Mercurio was fun & it always feels like such a welcoming place.
It's a sad day, unfortunately on 17 May 2024 Mercurio was abruptly closed due to some reported legal and financial troubles. We had just checked in for our 3rd stayed when we were asked to leave within minutes of notification by a third party. Everyone including staff were caught shocked and confused. The hotel was emptied of all it's furtinure and decor with hours with police overseeing the guest/staff evictions the entire time. Fortunately we were able to quickly find accommodations around the corner. All our best to Joselo, Daniel and the rest of the wonderful staff as they find a way forward.
Amazing place!!
Excellent service and wonderful facilities for a perfect vacation
Excellent place👍🏻
& then there is Mercurio!!! I have no words to express the heart and grace of this place. I have been been fortunate to stay at some wonderful hotels around the world, but I can hands down say the hospitality here is unbeatable (so is the breakfast). It was an honor for me to share time with such a dedicated team of individuals who work here. In Paul's leadership this family is here to pamper you and give you their unparalleled attention and hospitality. Gabriel, Monica, Josela, Jorge, Luis, Paulette, Adam, Rafa, Marco, Cameron and everyone else, I carry a little bit of you in my heart. Gracias, Gracias & Gracias. I will miss each one of you and hope to be back soon ❤ P.S.- and as they say they just dont make your bed....they actually touch your heart.
Great stay! Wish I could remember the name of the kind lady in the front who was a big help, we needed a hotel room ASAP when we were unable to check into a different one booked previously. I called after checking online and seeing there was a room available which she confirmed, and within 10 mins she was helping us walk our bags upstairs. Cute room, nothing to write home about but was clean and quiet with nice Venetian decor and honestly what more can you ask for out of a standard double room? Solid location too. Highly recommend!
