About this place Mantamar Beach Club Bar & Grill.

Mantamar Beach Club Bar & Grill: An LGBTQ+-friendly hotel and restaurant on Puerto Vallarta's malecón.

Puerto Vallarta has been a go-to for LGBTQ+ travelers for decades. It’s got a progressive vibe, good beaches, and a social scene that actually feels social. The malecón, that oceanfront promenade, is where everyone ends up, locals and tourists alike, taking in the Pacific and generally chilling out.

Mantamar puts you right there. It’s a hotel with a restaurant and bar, right on the beach, and it’s explicitly gay-friendly. So, if you want a place that’s got rooms, food, and a built-in community, it’s a solid bet.

The food here is a step up from typical beach grub. Think elevated, not just grilled fish tacos (though there’s nothing wrong with those). If you're after a proper dinner, or just want to grab a drink with an ocean view, it works. You'll find it at 4 Malecón. That address puts you within walking distance of galleries, shops, and the rest of Puerto Vallarta's gay nightlife. It's the kind of spot where you can settle in, get your beach time, and still eat well, which is a nice balance if you're in Jalisco for both.

Even if you paid for a room you can’t take any drinks or snacks onto beach.. they force you to buy over priced soda and cocktails…the hotel charges resort fees and then still searches your bags when you go to pool or beach club and will not let you bring any drinks or snacks in. You are forced to purchase their drinks and food.

A bit pretentious and rude staff to be honest. Went to do my check in process for the beach clubs and the two employees that were talking just kept staring at me until I finally said “so who do I talk to?” Like I’m here to pay your overpriced cover charge and you can’t even greet me with a smile or say hello? I’d only recommend coming here on a Friday or Saturday where you’ll get somewhat your money’s worth and get a crowd. During the week it’s pretty dead here. Wish they’d switch up the music and not play so much circuit music. I’m 50/50 on this place. Might or might not go back. They check your bags and you have to throw out any beverages you have, even if unopened and non-alcoholic.

A super-fun, gay-friendly beach, pool party venue. Bring your sunblock! 😉🌞🌈
