Vallarta Pride is a week-long pride in Puerto Vallarta, the Pacific resort town that has Mexico's best-known gay district. Almost everything happens in the Zona Romántica, where more than 170 LGBTQ+-oriented businesses sit within a few blocks of Playa Los Muertos.
There is no single headline day. The week opens on 17 May, the International Day Against Homophobia, with a march from the Sheraton to the arches on the Malecón. The parade itself comes mid-week: in 2026 it left the Sheraton area on a Thursday afternoon and ran the length of the Malecón with more than 50 floats from bars, hotels, nonprofits and public institutions. Watching is free. The rest of the week is bar and club nights, pool parties, a block party and community events, many of them ticketed by the individual venue.
Book early. Hotels and guesthouses in the Zona Romántica fill up, and organisers say the week is one of the biggest for hotel bookings in the town's year. Late May is hot and humid but before the summer rains.
The 13th edition ran 17 to 24 May 2026 under the theme "La Nueva Era: Un Pride Muy Mexicano", with the parade on 21 May. The organising committee, led by Javier Jiménez, said more than 40,000 visitors attended; this is the organisers' own figure, and their release ties it partly to the block party. The 2027 dates hadn't been announced when we checked; it is usually the second half of May.
