About this place Days Inn by Wyndham Carson City

The Days Inn by Wyndham Carson City is a budget motel-style hotel at 3103 N Carson St, on the main road at the north end of Nevada's state capital. It's a mainstream gay-friendly chain property, not a gay venue. Rooms are basic, and the Google rating sits at 3.4, so it works best as a cheap stopover rather than a destination. The Capitol, the Nevada State Museum and downtown are a few minutes' drive south. Lake Tahoe is roughly half an hour west over the mountains, and Reno about 40 minutes north. Carson City has no gay bars of its own. For nightlife, Reno is the nearest option.

We arrived close to 10pm after booking online. Desk Informed us the hotel was full. Exhausted after 6hr drive and fell asleep. The ac started squeaking and clicking waking us up. Realized cigarette smoke was coming through the vents but too exhausted to deal. First thing we did early am was speak to front desk about issues. Desk man said manager wasn’t in; he couldn’t do anything for us. I suggested maybe switching rooms. We still had to wait until manager came in at noon. We tried to stick it out but due to upper respiratory problems and headache smoke we needed to check out early instead of staying for the two nights we’d paid for (no interest in being in emergency room today from smoke). Manager called right before noon and said he couldn’t help us out about the first night despite what we went endured and checked out early for. He had no interest in making it right and hung up on me but refunded the second. We would’ve been better off in my own car. Cigarette butts litter the exterior; polyester sheets keep you hot, ac noises will keep you up, no an actual breakfast as stated but you can get ok coffee and rice crispies or a granola bar if you’re lucky, disgusting cigarette smoke inside and out despite being a NON SMOKING room and exterior. STAY AWAY.

Avoid this hotel if possible. At the "breakfast" they didn't even have coffee!! When I ran the shower, a clump of hair floated up from the drain. The only saving grace for us was that they have smoking rooms. If you don't smoke you'd be far better somewhere else.
