Perfect location in the French quarter. I asking distance to all kinds of stuff. Hotel is absolutely beautiful. The only reason I gave 4 stars is the toilet was running and there was a bit of mold on the ceiling of our bathroom. Not things you would expect with a boutique hotel for the room rate I paid.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Mills House! While the cabana room I had reserved by the pool wasn’t available at check-in due to an unexpected leak, the management team handled the situation with professionalism, kindness, and genuine care. They communicated clearly, offered a helpful solution, and made sure we still had a wonderful experience. I actually preferred the 2nd floor balcony room, so it truly worked out for the best. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning. The historic architecture is beautiful, the property is impeccably maintained, and every corner feels full of Charleston charm. You truly can’t beat the location. It is within walking distance of so many incredible restaurants, shops, and historic attractions, making it the perfect home base for exploring the city by foot. The pool area is great, a bit on the small side, but we didn’t have any issues lounging on the bar side area. The restaurant is so lovely with a beautiful outside seating area. Excellent all around!

We just got back from Mills House, and it was a phenomenal vacation! For ease of my reviews, I’ll bullet point my main take aways: - Check in/front desk: smooth as could be. The front desk ladies gave us a warm welcome, and also wished me a happy birthday (my husband must have put a note that we were celebrating my 40th when he reserved the room). The alternating flavors of fruit-infused water near the front desk was also great, as we’d take a cup when we’d head out on our walks. It was HOT while we were there, so the water was refreshing and appreciated. One night, we asked for a recommendation for a place to watch a sports game, and Noel was able to recommend a great spot (Blind Tiger: indoor/outdoor seating, multiple TVs, fun vibe). Hotel atmosphere: relaxing and elegant with nice seating, unique artwork, and beautiful chandeliers. There was a champagne happy hour near the lobby, and there is also an artist-owned boutique near the elevators. Location: this hotel is within a walkable distance to many great restaurants, bars, and sightseeing opportunities (the 364 day/year artisan Market, Rainbow Row, Waterfront Park, and the Pineapple Fountain… just to name a few). Pool: the pool is in a gated area, and is surrounded by loungers (with umbrellas) and some cushioned rocking chairs. Loungers filled up fast, but there is plenty of other areas to sit/lounge outside (near the pool area) that aren’t within the gated area (cabanas that can be reserved, loungers and seating near the outdoor bar, etc.) It was our first time to Charleston, and based on our stay, we would absolutely recommend this location!

LOVED our stay at Mills House Charleston. Rooms were spacious (we upgraded to a Poolside King Cabana room) and it was so worth it). Winifred connect with us before our stay and ensured we were all set up for a great stay. She set the tone for our wonderful trip. The lobby is a great place to relax and the two dining options (Iron Rose and Black Door Cafe) were perfect options. We had a daily resort credit which was nice to use for poolside drinks or coffee. Everyone was so kind. We got a free reusable water bottle and the filling stations were perfect for hydrating in the hot Charleston weather. My only gripe is the daily valet fee. For what you're paying with your stay, it should be included (docking 1 star for service because of this). Location is perfect! Walking distance to all the main attractions and King St where all of the shopping is and great dining options nearby. Would highly recommend and stay again.

Great location and a genuinely nice property — that part lived up to expectations. Unfortunately, our final bill included a charge for a restaurant we never visited and a duplicate valet charge. I reached out multiple times to get these resolved, but the accounting department never responded. Do yourself a favor and review your itemized bill line by line before checking out.

We can not say enough about the Mills House in Charleston. My daughter and I went to Charleston to celebrate our birthdays and had the most amazing time. The hospitality was impeccable. From check-in, to afternoon champagne, to the most delicious dinner ever. Thank you for making our trip so memorable; we cannot wait to come back.

This is a lovely hotel located in the heart of Charleston, the location is great and very walkable. It's a short distance to the waterfront, rainbow row, restaurants, and other tourist attractions. With Charleston this hotel does come with its own history and my biggest complaint is they 'upgraded' our room to one that is supposedly the most haunted of the entire building, room 301. Not only was the lore of the room unsettling, the window was dirty, and our 'city view' was literally the parking lot of Poogans Porch with a window that seemingly hadn't been cleaned in weeks. The room was also directly next to the elevator and had a huge gap underneath the door so we could hear everyone, the only solution was putting a towel underneath the door. Both the downstairs restaurant and Coffee Shop were phenomenal. The pool was nice but busy, you'll need to arrive early to get a seat.

Had a great stay at Mills House with my family. We traveled with two young kids, and the location honestly made everything so much easier. The hotel is right in the middle of everything, so we could walk to a ton of restaurants, shops, and attractions without needing to drive all over Charleston. The staff was great the entire trip. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and the valet team was especially awesome. We had a small issue getting our vehicle into the system at first, but they took care of it quickly and were really easy to work with. The hotel itself is beautiful and has a lot of character and Charleston charm. It feels historic but still comfortable and family friendly. It was nice being able to pop back to the room during the day with the kids since everything was so close. Only real downside was the water pressure got a little weird at night during busy times, but nothing major. Overall, really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again with the family.

The hotel was nice, great location. The only drawback was the water pressure. Had no water for 10 minutes they said it was due to the pool being filled when I called down at the front desk. When I asked at the front desk in person if that was normal, they said they have never heard of that. I understand the hotel is old but it would've been nice to be told the water can go out at times or the pressure is not good. Overall the place was great.

The hotel staff are very helpful, and the hotel itself is stylish. The hotel restaurant, Iron Rose, is also very good. However, for some reason, the water pressure in both the shower and sink was very low in the afternoon.

Beware of the timeshare sales in the lobby. No matter what they tell you it is a timeshare.

My first impression was at valet – where no one on duty could drive a manual transmission vehicle. During my stay, the room was lovely, the location was choice, and the service was spectacular. I left with another snafu at valet – despite the hotel staff knowing that I drove a manual transmission and knew I was checking out that day, not one person on duty (and contracted through the valet company) could drive my car.
