About this place The Talbott Hotel

The Talbott Hotel is a boutique property on East Delaware Place, good for anyone who wants to be close to downtown Chicago and Michigan Avenue.

It’s part of the JDV Hotels collection, and the kind of upscale place for travelers who want to be comfortable and look good doing it.

Chicago has plenty of LGBTQ+ hotels, from big chains to small, independent spots like this one. Staying somewhere that specifically welcomes the queer community means you can relax and be yourself. Boutique hotels, especially, tend to feel more personal than the big guys, with more character and a sharper eye for details.

Guests here get some solid perks. You can use the Equinox Fitness gym right across the street, free of charge. And that spot near Michigan Avenue means you’re right in the middle of downtown Chicago, close to the shops and all the cultural institutions. It’s a comfortable, welcoming place in a city that’s always moving.

We decided to stay at this hotel with my family because of its location, and it turned out to be one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had! The management at this hotel is unbelievably incompetent and disrespectful. We were incorrectly charged due to a mistake THEY made, and when I tried to resolve the issue, the manager made me wait in the lobby for over 45 minutes. After keeping me waiting that entire time, he simply left the building without ever speaking to me. No apology, no accountability, no attempt to resolve the situation professionally. The staff showed complete disregard for guests and their concerns. I have never experienced such poor management and customer service at any hotel before. If anything goes wrong during your stay, do not expect anyone in management to help you! DO NOT STAY HERE! There are far better hotels in Chicago that actually respect their guests.

Located in a quiet and serene part of the downtown area. Family friendly

Great hotel overall. Excellent food at Laurel, friendly staff, great location. My only wish would be a more functional chair in the room for business travelers.
