via Stay22About this place Matilda's
Matilda's, on North Sheffield Avenue, is a gay-friendly restaurant that does dinner and drinks in a low-key way.
You won't blow your budget here. The beer list is long, the prices are easy, and it’s a perfectly good spot for a quick drink or a full meal.
The vibe is fun, a little cheeky, and draws a mix of regulars and out-of-towners. They change up the food specials, which gives you an excuse to come back and see what's new. Just know you have to be 23 or older to get in.
Chicago's gay restaurant scene has plenty of options, but Matilda's slides in as a no-fuss place to eat, drink, and just be yourself. It’s a welcoming spot to spend an evening, whether you’re passing through or you live around the corner. Check their website for current specials.

The food and dinner was quite delicious! The guacamole was definitely a delicious surprise!
Ceviche de pescado 10/10 delicious. Guacamole delicious. The cocktail was ok and all were small plates.
My favorite high end Mexican/Peruvian in Chicago.
We just ate at the Wells location. HORRIBLE service. Would rate it at zero f possible. The "manager" had massive attitude when asked to address the wobbly table. She was clearly not happy to be there. The MIA waiter showed NO interest in anything. .Our first rose wines were undrinkable, when asked for another option we were told "some people drank last bottle the other day". We sat outside, no one paid any attention to anything . Another couple next to us got up as left without ordering. The food was good. What a pitty!
