Element by Marriott Huntsville

Phoneline to front desk didn't work forcing me to go to the lobby twice (never came after first request for a simple need). Front desk was aware of the phone system issue apparently it's been a problem for a while. Room was nice and big but echoed making working in the room difficult. Needs more wall art, etc... Breakfast Chobani yogurt cart was a nice option.

What a terrible experience. They had to kick a person out of the Weston hotel then allowed them to go to the element. The worst security and service. This has been the worst employees I have ever seen at a hotel. Children were very uncomfortable. We will never stay at the element again. Such a terrible experience

​Our stay for my son’s 12th birthday was a health and safety nightmare. We were a group of 9 (2 adults, 7 children), and when we opened the sofa bed in Room 830, we found a mattress covered in large, deep stains (see photo). It was absolutely repulsive. ​When I reported it, the only "solution" offered was to move all 9 of us to a different room after midnight. Expecting a family with 7 children to pack up and move in the middle of the night is not hospitality—it’s an insult. We were forced to stay in an unsanitary room because the alternative was a logistical mess for the kids. ​On top of that, service was slow (took an hour to get towels) and the blankets provided were paper-thin. While the hotel added 10k Bonvoy points to my account, points do not make up for being charged $264.89 to sleep in an unsanitary environment. My Facebook post about this has already reached 30k+ people, and I am still waiting for management to do the right thing and issue a full refund. I would strongly advise families to look elsewhere.

Pros - the rooms was spacious and very quiet. Cons - the plug ins but the bed didn't work, the beds looked like they were rushed and weren't neat. The shower had mold and mildew absolutely everywhere, there were no place to put your shower supplies, there wasn't a cold/hot indicator on the shower, and the toilet paper holder was so far away that I couldn't reach it.

An old hotel showing its age and years of neglect. We left a day early forfitting our payments and or points. Most of the hotel customer facing staff was excellent and did everything within their power to make it a good stay. But there is only so much they can do with a tired old hotel that has been neglected for many years. As soon as you head to your room it starts to show. The elevators are old, and in need of major repair. The tracks worn and they shake and rattle. One even broke down during our stay and the other was limping along. The hallways smell musty and the carpet is dated. The walls have been painted but the drywall is not smooth from years of poor repairs. The paint job looks amateurish. The halls are very long but bare of any artwork. Our room had been updated but on a budget. There were no luggage racks available and no where to put the luggage other than the floor. The showers even had no ledges to place shower needs. What other post say about the beds are true. Any mobility issues can cause assistance to be sought to get out of the bed without injury from the tall bed frame. The mattress is a kin to a sand bag. This hotel has been divided into a Westin and an Element. Floors 1-6 Westin and 7-11 an Element. This division was poorly done as the element has only 1 public location for the elevators at one even though there are working elevators on both ends. With little effort the other elevators could be available to the guest. The same can be said for Westin. The halls are very long with many zig zags to make for many guest rooms in a long but narrow structure. This is also an odd design. With all the bad, the breakfast was awesome.

The service is what is truly outstanding about this location. The breakfast buffet is elevated - offering a rare but greatly appreciated selection of vegetables like summer squash, asparagus, and mushrooms. Very refreshing to see healthy options added. The breakfast manager is very warm, and obviously cares about the guests having a great experience. Gym and pool are nicely equipped and roomy. The rooms and hallways are showing some signs of wear, particularly with peeling/cracking trim, but this is easily addressed. Plentiful dining and shopping options a short walk away.

I think it's a great hotel, the only thing would be great if the rooms were cleaned more thoroughly (and also add a garbage can or something similar so I can take out the garbage myself, especially the glass)
