Definitely overrated. For an Italian restaurant it is very loud. More like the lower class atmosphere of a "Oakmont" restaurant for example. Very poor ambiance and definitely not the type of restaurant conducive to a relaxed upscale dining experience. Dined here three times and just not quality food. Compared to Olive Garden's or Buca di Beppo's, which I myself do not dine at, low standards it may be relatively better. This time the chicken picatta was relatively low quality chicken, over sauced, and over seasoned. Side of vegetables was good. Prior meals here have bern average. Wine list is ok and fairly priced. But definitely not up to real italian standards of food quality and preparation standards. Probably just food/ingredients from Sysco. I see no indications on the menu or website that anything is locally sourced, organic, etc. Whether the pasta is made fresh in house or not is unclear, but regardless it is never properly cooked al dente.

On Thursday, July 23, we had the most beautiful and wonderful evening at Rosemary and Olive’s Restaurant! ! We were first greeted by a family member who was serving as the hostess that evening. She was completely lovely and made us feel so welcome from the minute we walked in the front door! We were greeted by our server, Jules, who made our evening, incredibly memorable and wonderful! He treated us so special! Every dish that we selected and enjoyed was fantastic! I can’t say enough wonderful things about this beautiful gem in downtown Indianapolis! Because of the way we were treated and the delicious food that we enjoyed, we can hardly wait to go back. In the meantime, we just wanted to share these thoughts with others in case you were considering going to this restaurant. It is absolutely lovely in every way! What a special night we enjoyed at Rosemary and Olive!

The spaghetti sauce was from a can and was premixed with the noodles. There was nothing good about the place. I don’t see how they have so many good ratings. Definitely not going back, and wouldn’t recommend wasting your time either.
