DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel San Pedro
Guests frequently praise the excellent service, with specific mentions of warm greetings and helpful staff. However, a significant and recurring complaint is that the rooms are outdated, worn, and in need of renovation, with some guests describing them as dirty or gross.

Enjoyed my stay here but would rather see a no tip policy rather than blaming the employee union for pricing and a 20%service charge added to the meal and drink prices. I frequently leave more than a 20% tip but didn’t at this hotel because of the tipping policy there.
Unfortunately, I had not the greatest experience with my 2 night stay, move my room 3 times due to (1st room) mildew smell and mold on widows on 3rd floor room above event room building. (2nd Room) connecting room smoking weed and flooded my room at 3am and many other times on the 2nd floor facing the harbor. (3rd room) mildew smell and mold on widows on 3rd floor above kitchen area facing the harbor. The people are nice here but the building owner needs to perform a restoration project on this whole building and get with the times and get rid of the carpet and curtains which produce so many unbearable odors and health problems with black mold. Smoking enforcement needs to be taken more serious here as it is a fire hazard to others in the building. Jesus Christ Loves You!!!
Upon arriving, check-in was straightforward and quick. Except once I got up to my room, I realized that the room I had selected via the app was not the one I had been given. I was given a room facing the parking lot despite having selected on facing the water. This issue was never remedied nor compensation offered. The staff just gave away my room and I was stuck in the room facing the parking lot. Additionally, the room was musty. It smelled like mildew and, again, despite mentioning it to the staff and them presumably sending a staff person to try to deodorize the room, the smell was not improved. Room itself was otherwise comfortable enough. However, the location is not near public transportation nor do they offer cheap or free parking. So you either spend a lot on parking and a rental car or a lot on Lyft/Uber and/or a lot of physical energy walking 20+/- minutes to the nearest bus stop.
The most uncomfortable bed, I requested a room change or new mattress and denied. The elevator was broken on arrival day, which they were aware of and working on. Wall paper was peeling by the split unit. I was here on a work trip and when I returned to the room late at night, the room wasn’t cleaned. Parking lot lights were also out when I returned. This hotel is very outdated and not clean. I end up leaving early at this location to go to another hotel.
