About this place Queen Mary

The Queen Mary: A 1936 ocean liner, permanently docked in Long Beach, that now operates as a hotel and event space.

You’re sleeping on a ship. A big one, from 1936, the kind that used to cross oceans. The Queen Mary has been a hotel in Long Beach for decades now, and while it’s got Wi-Fi and a spa, the real draw is its past life. Expect a grand, slightly creaky experience, not some sterile new build.

There are bars and restaurants on board, so you don’t have to leave the ship to eat or drink. It’s a good base for exploring Long Beach, which has a pretty open-minded vibe and plenty of beaches and nightlife nearby. Or just stay put and imagine you’re sailing to New York.

They host events here too, from weddings to parties. It’s hard to beat the setting for something a little different, especially if you’re into maritime history.

Visit this place as a museum, not a hotel. It's fascinating to get a glimpse into the past. They've managed to preserve everything original, even the smells. Highly recommended! 👍 👌

10/10 We only regretted not taking more time to explore the ship. Staying in the room was rustic as they mentioned but it was ultimately fine. If you need white noise or need to stay cool request the fan at check in. We will be back!
