About this place Maui Beach Hotel

Maui Beach Hotel is a budget hotel on Kaahumanu Avenue in Kahului, facing Kahului Harbor, not in Kihei as the listing city suggests. It is a mainstream gay-friendly hotel, not a gay venue, with a rooftop pool, a restaurant and a gym. Reviews are mixed (3.6 from about 2,000). Its main advantage is that Kahului Airport is about 10 minutes away, which makes it practical for a first or last night. The swimming beaches of Kihei and Wailea are around 25 minutes' drive south.

We had a terrible experience at Maui Beach Hotel. When we arrived at the airport, we called the hotel shuttle to pick us up. We were told it would arrive in 6 minutes, but we ended up waiting for more than an hour. In the end, we had to order an Uber ourselves. When we checked in, the room was in very poor condition. It had an unpleasant smell, and the staff at the reception were unfriendly and unhelpful. To make matters worse, the swimming pool was not working. Overall, the hotel did not meet our expectations at all, and the experience was very disappointing. I would not recommend this hotel.

The hotel was nice and we liked the breakfast restaurant in the hotel but there was one person that really made our Hawaii trip wonderful and that was Tiana! She helped us on the phone when we were looking to book and when we arrived we were lucky enough to meet in person! Tiana was the nicest person we interacted with on our entire trip! My wife had motion sickness from the flight and they offered her some tea and snacks since we got in late. That was so kind. We’ll definitely be back! Thank you for making our trip Tianna and thank you Maui Beach Hotel for having an employee like that!

Booked 6 nights at this hotel and had to leave after first one. The pool is under construction which we were not informed about before, beach is very small with probably chemicals in the water, view of factory nearby. Rooms are very old and smell with mold.. However the manager was very nice and let us leave.

Attended a corporate buffet at Maui Beach Ballroom and had a lovely time. Full bar service and extraordinary seafood buffet and carving station. Lots of sides and salads. Plus desserts. The crab was so delicious. Highly recommend doing your next big event (up to 300 people!) at Maui Beach Ballroom.
