About this place Friends of George's
Friends of George's is a Memphis theatre company that stages drag and LGBTQ+ productions, based at 1705 Poplar Avenue in Midtown. It's best known beyond the city as the plaintiff in Friends of George's v. Mulroy, the federal challenge to Tennessee's 2023 drag-restriction law. A district court struck the law down, but the Sixth Circuit dismissed the case in 2024 for lack of standing.
Shows are occasional, so check friendsofgeorges.org for the next production. It isn't a bar and has no regular opening hours.
