What reviewers say

Visitors frequently praise the hotel's beautiful interior, friendly and helpful staff, and clean, comfortable rooms. However, some guests have noted that the hotel could benefit from repairs and a deeper cleaning, and the shuttle service has been a point of frustration for some due to unreliability and unhonored reservations. Additionally, some guests found it inconvenient that WiFi was not free and there was no microwave in the room.

This is the best hotel experience I’ve had. Staff was attentive and the room was clean and comfortable. Kristina and Robert provided an excellent shuttle service!!

This is my first visit to this hotel. It is nostalgia on steroids. There are a lot of things that still need repair and a deep clean wouldn't hurt but the service and quality of the dining room and hotel staff are top notch. Parking is easy and there is a scheduable free shuttle to attractions. I'd stay here again.

If you are staying here to take the shuttle to a Brewer's game, be advised the shuttle runs only once per hour & takes 14 people. We reserved a time slot in advance, however, others w/o reservations got on & the reservations were not honored. The shuttle driver just shrugged. We had to Uber to make it to the game on time ($20). To avoid a long wait after the game, we took a taxi back. ($40)

**** Highly suggest doing a Google search on this -historic- hotel before booking--I wish I had. Positives: This is a gorgeous building (inside) with a beautiful renovation Dinner at the restaurant was delicious Staff was all friendly and helpful Our double queen room was very large and nice Clean, well-kept, no complaints Close to MU Negatives: This hotel (especially lobby area) does not give off a "warm and welcoming" feel. They could improve this a lot with better lightning in the lobby and their front desk situation. While the staff were very nice, there is only one of them, and that person sits in a different room off of the front counter. They must have a mirror or something that alerts when a guest is at the counter, but 95% of the time, the front desk looks unattended which gives a deserted feeling in the lobby.

Super clean, quiet, well-lit, spacious room. Comfy bed. Great location. Great shower. Mini fridge. Perfect overnight for me. I will note that they charge extra if you want to park in their lot, but (at least on this weeknight) I was able to find a spot on the street right next to the building no problem. (Not sure if a weekend might be different in that regard though.)
