Kimpton Journeyman Hotel

Nice rooms. Clean hotel lobby and cozy fireplace with a lounge. Angel was awesome and gave my team some bottles of wine as we hung out in the lobby for a business trip. Very pleasant experience.

Excellent hotel right in the third ward.

I hope the right person sees this review. I will email corperate as well, just to make sure. Good customer service is easy, but good customer service can be hard to find. We visited today but found the hotel was all booked up. Angel, from the moment we walked in was a perfect example of customer service, pride in her job and an amazing hostess. Thank you Angel! You are an amazing brand ambassador.

An extremely clean hotel with excellent service. The check-in process was fast and the bell staff was prompt with our luggage. Our room had a large soaking tub and shower. The hotel is conveniently located and we walked to most of our meals. An evening tidy up, essentially turndown service without a mint on the pillow, is available by request.

I have been a Kimpton fan for many years. Journeyman is an exception. I was here for 4 nights for a business meeting. From the beginning there was no reliable WiFi in my room, for TV streaming or meeting rooms. First it was slow then non existent. They sent up engineering to “reset” did nothing. They had changed WiFi services and TVs. So no reliable WiFi for all 5 days. And yes I appreciate the $150 hour credit. I needed WiFi. Then the body lotion small plastic bottle was empty. I asked for 2 more and got one. The lotion is so thick you can’t get it out of the bottle. I Had the room cleaned and no lotion was left. Do I appreciate the apology including 5 bottles of lotion chocolate bar bottle of wine and water - sure but I dint want an apology I wanted body lotion. I don’t drink and left the chocolate and wine in the room. Do they apologize well? Yes. I was surprised during my 5 day stay nothing changed w the WiFi. 5 full business days. Working days for me, hotel management, WiFi company and tv repair. I would rather have had working WiFi and body lotion. Can’t recommend or call before booking to make sure their WiFi is working. If that’s important to you.

TV didn't work, bathroom door wouldn't stay shut. It was too overstimulating for my dog specifically despite being a dog hotel. They never sent stuff to my room they said they would, dirty air filter, badly installed and printed wall art. Just not lux to me ultimately -- although staff was kind and helpful. I would book elsewhere next time I visit, just to see what else the city offers.

We slept one night and enjoyed the room very much. The hotel staff felt distant.

We will not return. Here's why. It was super expensive. 300$+ per night. Our view was not of the city skyline. Our room overlooked the back of the hotel and all we could see was brick walls and a roof top. Bummer. Our room's tv did not function properly. If you wanted to stream from your phone you'd be fine but no local channels. The cable service kept kicking off wifi and would scrolled forever. The solution was to unplug it snd let the whole system reboot. After 3-4 of these at 10-12 minutes each, we gave up. Lastly, the front desk could not answer the question, should we be able to watch TV channels? She said, I dont know. That is a training issue. The staff was friendly, especially the guy filling the complimentary water in the lobby snd the Valet crew. The room was clean and quiet. Super quiet as in there were empty rooms all around us, and across the hall which means the front desk probably could have moved us across the hall to a room with a view and let someone who checked in late have our room. We called and asked to switch as soon as we walked in the room and saw a wall of gray bricks out or window. Lastly, and I know I am showing my age, but door-less showers are cold and drafty. Sure they look cool, but they were a really bad idea that should never have gotten traction. Brrrrrrr. Similarly, pocket doors are great when they stay closed. Due to a slight angle of the floor or how it was hung, ours rolled open about 4 inches. So, yeah. We had no privacy while on the toilet. Hearing your partner poop is not part of my ideal weekend get-away, but hey, if that is your kink, ask for room 726! The bed was comfy. The linens were clean and soft. But for that kind of money, I want it all- a view, privacy on the privy, a draft free shower and a working TV.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. Amazing staff. Amazing how pet friendly they are and very clean!! They brought a bed for my dog, two ceramic bowls, a scarf… they made my boyfriend feel special by surprising him with dessert and champagne because it was his birthday and we were celebrating it, this experience was just amazing. Even though the tv service was slow and no internet connection was provided, I can still be grateful with the staff and the service. 10/10. Definitely coming back and staying at Kimpton Journeyman Hotel! Thank you, everyone, starting from the valet parking, to the housekeeper, to the front desks, the rooftop staff, hosts, everyone.
