Gay Easter Parade New Orleans
About This Event
The Gay Easter Parade takes over the French Quarter on Easter Sunday afternoon, a spectacle of LGBTQ+ fashion and creativity that's been going strong since 2000. You'll see big hats, gowns, summer suits, and tuxedos, with riders in horse-drawn carriages and convertibles, plus walking groups. It's also a fundraiser for Food for Friends, a CrescentCare programme, and by 2026, it had raised more than $394,000 for them since 2003. Anyone can join in, and it's family-friendly.
The 2026 parade started at 4:30 p.m. from the entrance to Armstrong Park at North Rampart and St. Ann, then wound its way through Quarter streets like Bourbon and Royal. It ended at La Cabaret on North Rampart. Earlier that day, Good Friends Bar hosted an Easter bonnet contest. With the city's other Easter parades happening the same day, the Quarter gets crowded.
Felicia Phillips and Jeffrey Palmquist were the grand marshals for the 25th parade, which took place on Easter Sunday, 5 April 2026. The parade always happens on Easter Sunday, but details for 2027 hadn't been announced yet.
