About this place Nowhere

Nowhere is an East Village gay dive on East 14th Street, a low-key spot where you can actually hear yourself talk.

You’ll find Nowhere on East 14th Street, in Manhattan’s East Village. It’s a gay dive, meaning you get a relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere. You can kick back, have a drink, and actually have a conversation without yelling over a DJ or feeling like you need to impress anyone. The staff are friendly, and the vibe’s approachable.

New York’s gay scene runs the gamut, from swanky lounges to underground dance clubs. Places like Nowhere fill a different role: They’re where locals hang out, where friendships start, and where you get a real slice of queer nightlife, not just the tourist traps. The happy hour prices don't hurt, either—it’s an easy way to go out without blowing your budget.

If you're in the East Village and want a straightforward gay bar experience, this is it. No fancy gimmicks, just drinks and people. Check their site for hours and what's on special.

The space was mostly lit via disco ball, which is my favorite type of gay bar. Drinks were very well priced for the city, and well made. Definitely bring cash if you can

Love the name. My friend read it as 'Now here", either way it's a step down, below ground NYC hide away gay bar and I get the feeling they want to keep it that way. Very low ceilings and a little too dark. Your eyes may need time to adjust. Friendly enough people once you can see who's in there. It's a bit like the old New York speakeasy gay bars.

AVOID. My card was charged a 100% tip at this bar. The bar tender also had a weird hostile attitude towards me and the group i was with. Not worth the trouble.
