I stayed here as a solo traveler in early June and had an excellent experience. As a young woman traveling alone, I felt very safe thanks to the doormen, who were present around the clock. The location is fantastic, with easy access to the subway and countless great restaurants throughout the West Village, making it convenient to explore all parts of the city. One of the standout amenities was the complimentary luggage storage. My flight wasn't until late in the evening after checkout, so being able to leave my bags at the hotel while I enjoyed my last few hours in the city made my departure day much more relaxing and stress-free. The only slight drawback was the view of my room. It faced a wall, so I did not have much light coming into my room. That being said, I wasn't in the room much anyway. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely come back to this hotel again.

Couldnt ask for a better location, it's NYC so if you're not from here the rooms are going to be a lot smaller than you're expecting.

We stayed at the end of May and our stay was lovely. We arrived earlier and had planned to leave our bags with them while we walked around the city but our room was ready for us at 10am! Everyone we talked to was very friendly and helpful. Our room was nice and clean. The shower was very nice with great pressure. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel but I believe they have a little breakfast spread in the mornings. We did utilize the coffee bar and that was nice. The hotel is right next to Washington Square Park which was nice to walk around and hang out in. The area felt very safe - full of college students and tons of great food. We checked out early but wanted to still be able to walk around the city without luggage so they held our bags for us until we were ready. We would absolutely stay here again when we visit the city.

The high reviews really set us up for disappointment when we arrived. The lobby is beautiful but the room itself left much to be desired. We can appreciate that this hotel touts being a historical building, but aside from the lobby, not much else has been updated or maintained. The room felt overall icky. The worst part of our experience was the bathroom. The sink handle is clear and has visible molding on the inside, the hand soap bars were small and barely lathers (we ended up buying our own soap), the towels and bath mats are so thin that they are completely damp after one use. They couldn’t even be bothered to double line their shower curtains. Room turnovers were a hit or miss. The doormen often did not help with the door or luggage. I couldn’t have felt more that the hotel did not prioritize comfort and experience. Even my husband who is very easy going felt like this hotel was awful.

Charming historic hotel in the heart of Greenwich Village. The inside has beautiful tile artwork and architecture. Amazing location, close walk to the park and nearby subway stations. Comfortable beds, good coffee and morning pastries. Very clean, safe, and quiet. Every single employee we interacted with from the bellhop, front desk, housekeeping, and breakfast attendants were incredibly nice and hospitable. Thank you for the great stay.

Great location, staff was really nice. The rooms were clean and had everything, the hot water runs out in the showers quickly but that’s to be expected for an older property. For the location right near WSP and walkability to restaurants/the metro, it was worth it.
