Hello—I would like to share my experience with the Apicha location in Manhattan. I can say that, over the years I have been a client—more than five years now—it has been a very positive experience, thanks to the staff and, in particular, my case manager, Carla Corcoran. She has always been ready and willing to help me with whatever I have needed.

I’ve had such a positive experience with my therapist, Omar Hakim, at Apicha Community Health Center. From the very beginning, he has always treated me with kindness, patience, and genuine understanding. He creates such a comfortable and judgment-free environment that makes it easier to open up and talk honestly about difficult things. One thing I truly appreciate is how accommodating and supportive he has been whenever I’ve missed an appointment, instead of making me feel bad about it, he has always helped me reschedule and made sure I still received the support I needed. That level of compassion and flexibility really means a lot. Omar consistently shows that he truly cares about his patients and wants to see them grow, heal, and do well. He listens carefully, gives thoughtful guidance, and never rushes conversations, which makes every session feel meaningful and productive. His calm demeanor, professionalism, empathy, and patience have made a huge impact on me, and I’m genuinely grateful for all the support and encouragement he has given me throughout my time at Apicha Community Health Center.
