I cannot say enough good things about Providence Eagle, but if I’m being completely honest, there is one major reason this place has become my absolute go to for me, Topher!! Literally every single time I walk in and see him working, I know it’s going to be an amazing night. He completely sets the vibe for the entire venue. His music selection is always spot on (I’m a sucker for 80s classics so the music here ALWAYS delivers) and keeps the energy exactly where it needs to be. Beyond just being great at what he does, he is genuinely one of the nicest, most awesome guys you will ever meet. In a world where great customer service and good vibes can be hard to find, Topher brings both effortlessly. He is the sole reason I keep coming back week after week, and it is always a guaranteed good time when he's there. Highly recommend stopping by, especially if Topher is on shift!

Overall, this place is awesome! Lots of friendly and fun people, including both staff and clientele. The drinks are inexpensive and typically well made and the atmosphere is just what you'd expect from this type of bar! They don't serve any food, as far as I know, but there are tons of great places in easy walking distance and if it's too late for that, Insomnia Cookies is literally around the corner. During the warmer season, they usually set up a few tables and chair on their sidewalk and often host events where they take over the whole street or even the big parking lot across the street. Their block parties are great! That being said, beware if Topher, one of the bartenders, has a personal beef with you. He will actively work to make your visits uncomfortable it not outright hostile. He badly waters down the drinks he mixes if he or his partner don't like you for some reason. I've grown hesitant to even visit this bar sometimes when I can't be certain they're not hosting one of his and his partner's events. I'm glad this place recently got themselves a new website, but I hope they work hard to keep their calendar consistently up to date. If it weren't for the way this *one* bartender handles his personal vendettas, this review would definitely be a 5-star. All the other bartenders are phenomenal and most of the events there are so much fun!

I never write reviews. I created an account explicitly so that I could write one. I attended the club on a Sunday night with my girlfriend and a group of friends. My girlfriend and I were heading to what we thought was the exit, but I guess must have been the entrance, since three people pointed my girlfriend somewhere else. I tried to follow my girlfriend, but those same people grabbed me and stopped me from following her, claiming they were employees and "I work here". They had no identifying clothing and no reason to stop me. That didn't stop all three of them though from berating me and painfully painfully my arm, my collar, and my center of mass and pulling me roughly back towards them. They then forced me to show them my hands. Then they coldly pushed me away back into the crowd, where I frantically tried to find my girlfriend whom they forcefully seperated me from, since I now had no idea where she now was. Absolutely unprofessional behavior and I will never return to a place where I get assaulted by the staff and seperated from my partner.

I want to give this place a full five stars. For the most part, the staff and clientele at the Eagle are friendly, and the atmosphere is chill and welcoming. Unfortunately, one of the bartenders, Topher, does not like me on a personal level. The drinks he serves me are weak and watered down. It makes me hesitant to buy any drink other than beer. Also, since he sometimes organizes events at the Eagle, I wish their calendar was better curated so I would know when to avoid him. It makes me ambivalent about going to one of my favorite bars.

Topher was amazing!!! He is so friendly, kind, and personable. My friend locked her keys in her car and Topher was more helpful than the Police AND the fire department. He sprung into action, had all the tools to unlock the car, and helped us out! So grateful for Topher.
