Blue Moon Restaurant & Bar

How things change! Because I moved away and then sort of moved back somewhat closer, I have not been here in over 17 years. This used to be the big LGBT hangout. Apparently, they moved on. I reserved dinner at the restaurant anticipating bouncing from the bar after having a drink to eat and then back to the bar to get another drink. That didn’t happen. The food was pretty average. My waiter wasn’t the most attentive, but I noticed he was that way with the other tables too. I had several different people waiting on me.

I made a reservation a week in advance, then showed up at the appointed time. They had the reservation. So far, so good. But they didn't have a table. A half-hour later, I was still cooling my heels. They offered to put me at a high-top in the bar, but I quickly realized that this put me next to a couple of large groups whose noise level was downright painful. There was also talk of a live show starting in another thirty minutes. Not my idea of an elegant dining experience. To quote Seinfeld, "You know how to take the reservation, but you don't know how to hold the reservation. And that's really the most important part of the reservation: the holding. Anybody can just take them." They would have charged my credit card if I had failed to show up. I'm looking forward to a credit showing up on my card. Oh, that's right, the rules apply only one way. I finally bailed out, and keeping with the color scheme, I headed for Indigo, where I was seated immediately and had an excellent dinner and superb service. Maybe the new owners of Blue Moon can fix it. It's going on the auction block next week. Probably the last visit for me, in any case, after coming there for over 20 years.

We came in after a long walk and sat inside at the atrium counter. Ashley was the bartender and she was awesome. We ordered Baked Oysters, Tuna Carpaccio, and Mexican Shrimp Cocktail for appetizers. So good! Happy Hour is the best!

We just had such an amazing meal at Blue Moon. We went for the tasting Tuesday—one of the best specials in town. The wine pairings were so good, the choices for every course were so hard to make because they all sounded good. Beautiful dining room and flawless service. We will be back and will recommend to friend!

We celebrated our wedding with dinner at Blue Moon and it couldn't have been more perfect. From start to finish the experience was exceptional. The staff was warm attentive and incredibly knowledgeable every recommendation felt spot on and we truly felt taken care of on such a special night. The drinks were delicious and thoughtfully crafted and the food was nothing short of excellent. Every dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavor making the entire meal feel like a celebration itself. We left already talking about when we will come back. Blue Moon helped make our wedding night unforgettable and we will definitely be returning!

Love the Moon. Great for brunch, great for for dinner. Owners and staff go above and beyond.

We have always had a delicious meal with excellent service. Some days/nights they have specials and entertainment.

I had a very disappointing experience 2/14/26. I had a reservation for dinner with friends at Blue Moon which had been made through American Express. When I got to the restaurant, I was told they saw my reservation, but it was not reflected on "the list," which I assumed meant I had not been assigned a table. I had received a call from the restaurant the evening before confirming that I was still coming, so was surprised by the mix up, but confident it would be favorable resolved. The host went to the owner to figure out the situation. The owner came out, took a look at me and my reservation and very quickly and rudely said they don't honor American Express reservations and there was nothing he could/would do for us. American Express said the restaurant is listed as accepting their reservation service and Blue Moon certainly called me the night before to confirm. While our group of 4 was racially mixed, I can only assume it was not what the owner was interested in. We will not be returning to Blue Moon.

I went to the Friday night Drag Spotlight show, and it was amazing. The service, the show, the food!!!! Incredible, I cant wait to be back!
