CAMP Rehoboth

CAMP Rehoboth (Creating A More Positive Rehoboth) is the LGBTQ+ community organisation for Rehoboth Beach and coastal Delaware. Steve Elkins and Murray Archibald founded it in 1991, at a time when the town's growing gay population and its year-round residents were often at odds. The group's approach was to work with the wider town rather than apart from it. It runs a community centre at 37 Baltimore Avenue, publishes the long-running Letters from CAMP Rehoboth, and organises health, social and arts programmes across the year. The centre is a block off Rehoboth Avenue and keeps office hours on weekdays, with a short Saturday morning slot. Visitors can pick up the magazine there, which is the easiest way to see what's happening in town that week.
