This place was a joke. And the hosts are an even bigger joke. My 6 yr old found a vape sitting on the window sill about ten minutes after we got there. There was an unlabelled trip hazard entering the bathroom as well as coming into and out of the patio. The vent in the bathroom was caked with dirt dust and bugs. The patio furniture advertised on airbnb was completely broken and dirty and moldy. And when asked about it the host simply said the cushions were out away for winter. But even Fatimah the co-host said she couldn't get the awning to stay up BECAUSE ITS BROKEN. The "zen garden" is a shelf decoration not an actual zen garden. And the "view of Royal oak" is a view of the houses across the street and the alley of a grocery store. Not to mention the fact that the "private" patio isn't even private. The entire neighborhood can see you, the private part is just the access. But there's no privacy. This place was nowhere near the $278 we paid for it. And my husband posted a shorter review below mine and look how RUDE and untruthful the host responded to it. Funny because I have the pictures included with my review to prove they're liars and crooks. Do NOT STAY HERE!!! SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!! And they never accommodated any early check-in or late checkout. We waited til 4pm as per check-in time or else our beds would not have been made they said. And we walked out at 1015 which is only 15 min after checkout because we cleaned the place completely before leaving. And the "additional request" was for the patio cushions that we still couldn't even use. And for a rug to cover the trip hazard going into the bathroom. Absolutely horrible hosts!
It was not at all what was advertised! there were many trip hazards that are not posted. My 6 year old found a vape in the window seal and it was extremely dusty.
With one bedroom and one bed in the living room, it accommodates two people. The washing machine is an American top-loading model. The dryer is also an American model, but it is small and old, so it was not used. Parking is available for two cars; you can park on the alley in front of the house.
🌟 5-Star Review – MicroLux Micro Hotel, Detroit 🌟 After our Meet the Authors event at the historic Rose Estate, we had the pleasure of staying at MicroLux Micro Hotel — and what a fantastic experience it was! Thoughtfully designed and immaculately clean, this boutique-style micro hotel offers smart luxury in a compact, modern setting. Despite the smaller footprint, every detail is intentional — from the cozy, well-appointed rooms to the seamless self-check-in process. It was the perfect place to relax and recharge after a meaningful day connecting with our readers. The staff was kind and accommodating, and the location couldn’t be more convenient. We highly recommend MicroLux for travelers seeking comfort, style, and a uniquely efficient stay in Detroit. A hidden gem with big heart!
I stayed here after booking on Airbnb. Ian was the host and was very attentive and respectful. The place was clean. Ian gave very clear instructions with photos on how to get to the place. The furniture and decorations were very relaxing. At times neighbors could be heard speaking loudly on a phone or entering/leaving the building but nothing intolerable. There are quiet times posted which seemed to be followed appropriately. This place is driving distance to many attractions, things to do, and places to go. After my stay Ian did check in with me to ensure my stay was pleasant and answer any questions I had. The hot tub and porch were clean. Everything functioned. Had no issues.
