Great property, but incredibly rude management. I called about errors on my bill and the person on the other end responded “can you just get to the point because I have 10 people in line?” I asked to speak to a manager and he said “I am the manager.” I explained that I have errors with the food and beverage credit for every day of a 5 night stay. It’s going to take time to explain the errors and get things sorted. I’m owed a refund on some of these items, and that was a completely inappropriate way to speak to a guest.

The mansion has so much potential but the facility is badly managed. If you're there for the pool get there early. There are only 4 or 5 loungers and a few inexplicable tables. Multiple families were sitting on the floor. We had to ask for pool towels to be replenished. There are two umbrellas only. With a few hundred dollars the pool area could be renovated. Check-in took a half hour because the front was understaffed. On top of that the clerks seemed to have little sense of urgency. My impression was that this was very normal for the hotel. Breakfast was a complete mess. The skeleton crew was not enough. Most families had to sit down to dirty unbussed tables. My waiter did apologize and said that he had to go to the back and cook the breakfast himself for us. People were waiting around for the continental breakfast items to be refilled. This is probably a one-off but indicative of bad management: there was a large food crew cooking in the parking lot. I have never witnessed a sight like this before. It must have been for a wedding and there was no other space to grill. As a guest, it is the most bizarre sight to pull in to park and see billowing smoke and caterers making food next to people parking. Other guests may not experience this but they will experience staying at a place where management is clueless to the guest experience. The grounds are nice. And when the food arrived it was tasty. The pool was heated and the kids enjoyed it. The room was nice and clean. The location is off the beaten path but that's expected. Unfortunate that a historic site like this is being run this way.

Horrible!! Horrible!! This hotel treats its guest with so much unprofessionalism. Unfortunately, my experience with customer service at this hotel was very disappointing. With paying as much as we did you’d expect a welcoming and helpful experience, but instead we were met with horrible customer service and were dismissed. The staff did not seem very attentive, and when we needed assistance the response was either delayed, unhelpful, or lacked basic courtesy. This isn’t the normal experience we get with Hilton hotels so I was very surprised. If you’re able to, save money and book somewhere else.

if you lost something in their place. you need to fillout a form and wait for many days before you can collect your lost item. The front desk is 'not allow' to assist at all and always kicking the ball. The lost and found 'officer' is never in the office. You will be long gone before they ever 'find' your item. GREAT EXPERIENCE!

I just went to a vendor pop up didn't stay in the room. Such a beautiful place. I never knew about it.

Bed sheets was rough and have specks of dirt. Seems like housekeeper did not change to a clean sheet.

Very nice looking hotel . I noticed people taking photos all over the grounds.

I enjoyed the weekend as it was a much needed break from my usual routine. Quite and beautiful landscape. Lots of beautiful areas to sit and relax on the property.

Great property and a very convenient location for the South Bay and SJC. I was there for a wedding, so I did not get to try all of the amenities, but I enjoyed the stay. The restaurant was good, especially for the price. The rooms are a bit older and could use an upgrade, but at a few hundred dollars a night, they felt like a very good value. The staff were helpful, professional, and courteous throughout. Thank you, Hayes Mansion. 💗

Upon arrival the desk clerk ( who was very concerned & helpful) informed us that there was a wedding and our room was over the ballroom and there would be a band with loud music and offered to reassign a new room. She moved us to a suite, an upgrade. But the suite on the 3rd floor was just off of the court yard next to the ballroom with doors open. The noise was consuming and made the windows shake, stopped 1 AM I was up until 1 AM. It was a miserable night. Management chose money over guest comfort and satisfaction, Marriott is going the way of Hilton. I Should have called the police and reported a public nuisance . San Jose ordinance 10.16.010 Disturbing the Peace Prohibited . No person shall disturb the peace, quiet and comfort of any neighborhood by creating therein any disturbing or unreasonably loud noise.- The playing or operating of any radio, phonograph, orchestra or other musical device or instrument in a manner that is disturbing or unreasonably loud to a reasonable person outside the facility or unit from which the noise emanates; and ... (Prior code § 4231; Ord. 24198.) There are homes across the street I have no idea if they reported the noise but should have

Basic hotel but they have such creepy photos all on the halls of slaves with no faces very unsettling. Wouldn’t go back.
