The location in proximity to Historic Savannah is awesome, beds were comfy and the afternoon lemonade and candy was a hit with our daughter. However, the "river view" looked out on an unlovely panorama of the convention center. The ceiling fan made too much noise to use, one of the overhead lights was flickery so we only had the bedside lamps, the bathroom tiles had pink bacteria (had to Google it) and the toilet handle broke completely. Also, I booked on Priceline and paid over $200 in taxes and fees for two nights, and then the hotel charged me nearly $100 in additional fees and taxes when we checked in. The accounting department didn't return my voicemail and no one apologized for overcharging me (after I followed up, they refunded part of the taxes that were apparently covered by Priceline).Overall, it was a big ripoff – especially if you pay their $50/night valet parking!!! I don't recommend staying here.
My wife and I had a great experience. There is a wonderful view of the river and it's within walking distance to so many restaurants and local businesses. Very friendly and courteous staff. Parking is a little tight, so if you can spring for valet parking, go for it. We had no issues with our stay. Highly recommended if you're looking for historical Savannah charm coupled with modern conveniences that do not take away from the atmosphere.
We have walked by this hotel for 30 years and finally made a reservation. They treated us outstanding. The happy hour, restaurant, porch, there was no reason to leave the property. We will definitely be back. And we'll be back soon. Huge shout out to Jay at the front desk, he was awesome. As well as Bradley at the bar of happy hour. Thank you for making our anniversary special.
What an amazing find! From the moment we checked in we knew we had picked the right place to stay. Centrally located to anything we could want, the manager’s reception, the comfort and cleanliness of the rooms…it’s a wonderful place to stay and I would highly recommend the River Street Inn.
Ashley the front desk manager was very rude. We were late to our check in so she canceled the reservation and charged us for the first night. Very rude staff. Very unpleasant experience.
Great place to stay near all the fun stuff on River Street and City Market. Wonderful staff. A bit noisy wirh our room directly over the restaurant. They started music at 7:30am. Bring ear plugs and eye shades and you'll have a nice visit. We would stay here again.
