About this place Rock Box

Rock Box takes Seattle's gay bar scene and injects it with a shot of Japanese karaoke culture. It’s a full-service bar that’s less about the dance floor and more about belting out power ballads with your friends. The big deal here is the karaoke. There are twelve private rooms, good for groups from two up to fifteen people. That means you can have a proper party with your crew, without strangers judging your pitchy rendition of "Bohemian Rhapsody." They bring drinks and food right to your room, so you don't have to keep pausing the fun to hit the main bar. You'll find Rock Box at 1603 Nagle Place. It's a low-key, social spot where you can sing, drink, and hang out. The private rooms are a smart way to do a group night or just have a more contained good time. Check rockboxseattle.com for hours and to book a room.

My friend and I came here the other weekend and had an absolute blast! Kai was an absolutely wonderful server, warm and attentive, and really made the experience! Sunday is happy hour, private rooms $7 /person per hour if I remember right. We loved it so much we stayed for 6 hours!! The rooms are cozy - just small enough to feel cozy, with comfortable couch to relax on while singing, but roomy enough so you don’t feel cramped. The technology is a little buggy at times, we had a tablet die and abother freeze, but we were able to exchange them super easily. You can choose songs from their catalog, or search youtube!! They’re drinks were good too, both the alcohol and non-alcoholic cocktails. We arrived to late for food, but they have appetizers available all night. The chips with guac and salsa were standard, only complaint is there wasn’t enough sauce for the amount of chips provided. Would highly recommend stopping by when you want to chill and also blow off steam.

fun selection of music (+ YouTube!) and drinks! didn’t get a ton of instructions/help from staff (including when a random man entered our room, sang a song, and then later in the night tried to forcefully return), but tons of fun overall! Not sure if you can actually settle up at the end of the night separately because it was an option shared verbally but then not provided throughout the night, so be ready to Venmo! I’d say if ur looking for a fun selection of music and are fairly self sufficient with I pads - you’ll thrive! Will say I disagree with others on the crowds always being fun - it can get pretty tech bro-y and all the things that come with that so , personally, the private room is a must!

Always a fun time! Great individually controlled rooms. Choose your songs from a mega-list and sing to your heart's content. Staff are friendly, the food and drinks are good and its fun to have your own space to sing.

We had a total blast doing a casual bachelorette here! The drinks were tasty and so were the apps, a giant song menu to choose from, and only took off a star for service because it was clearly a busy Friday night and they were slow. We would have stayed longer if we could!

Nothing like Karaoke to you and your friends/families personal bangers!! We lost our voices after one night here.
