Steam Plant Hotel Spokane, an Ascend Collection Hotel

I booked on booking.com for $89, got there and was told that the actual price is $195. I ended up paying it since I had no where to go. Room was small, no actual blankets just 3 sheets. Fire alarm went off around midnight and went on for 30 minutes and front desk was no where to be found, I had to call them to tell them about it and they seemed like they didn’t care. Wouldn’t recommend if you’re looking for an affordable place to stay. Editing to say: your response was nothing.

Located in Spokane’s Steam Plant District, this hotel is in a great spot—everything is walkable, or you can grab a scooter like we did for a little extra fun. The hotel itself is cute, with smaller rooms, nice showers, and a cozy feel. A big perk is the free breakfast at Ruby’s Café right across the street—definitely a step up from the usual continental setup. The vibe is what makes it stand out. They play silent old cartoons and movies on the parking lot wall like a mini drive-in, which is such a unique touch. Plus, you’ll never get lost at night—just follow the glowing Steam Plant towers. It’s a steal for the price if you’re not planning to spend most of your time in the room. A couple blocks over, you’ll find high-end shopping, a 24-hour Mexican spot, and plenty of other dining options.

This hotel is within walking distance of many places downtown I stayed here to watch a concert at the big dipper. There is also a taco bell near by lol and domino's i think. The beds were comfortable but I am not sure if the TV worked or not I forgot to check but over all the place is decent for what it is.

Disappointed; will avoid in the future. Noisy from the train running all night next door, bed hard yet springy, staff not concerned at all, or very helpful, when I brought up problems. The bright note was breakfast-very good. Good luck sleeping.

Upon arrival, room looked clean. Food leftover from a prior customer in the freezer. When I inquired about the train noise, person at front desk lied when she said train noise is audible outside, but not in room. It was brutal. She also put us in a room very close to the train track. Hotel wasnt full, so not sure what I said to piss her off; why she put us near the tracks. When I mentioned the noise and food left in the freezer, two different employees barely acknowledged my concern. Breakfast, at Rosie's, was the bright spot...it wasn't having a comfortable bed because that was an older springy mattress that exacerbated getting back to sleep when the trains woke us up.

there is a smoking and well lit dance area in the parking lot. room was clean love the location. the dance area is keen, I can't bee the only one!

Steam plant hotel is always welcoming and accommodating to our vacation needs! We love the location and appreciate the support! Especially love the breakfast at Rosie’s.

The room was good small but clean with the necessities. Real coffee cups. The location was kinda scary with the unhoused population all around. But the service was not what I would call friendly. Staff yelling at me across and open parking lot from the second story because I was not close enough to the smoking area is a definite no for me. There are appropriate ways to handle such a situation and that was not one. Them they billed me twice when they could not figure their own system out. The did however show cartoons on a piece of their parking wall. Excellent food options within walking distance and the river front mall just blocks away in a straight line from parking. So yeah this would have gotten a higher star rating but for the staff. I also base this decision on 6 weeks of choice hotel stays in the last year. Personally I would hold out for the Sleep Inn in post falls if you want to stay in the brand.

Think hard before you book this hotel. We literally had to go to Walmart to buy blankets,they provide a top sheet, bottom sheet,and another sheet for a blanket I guess. Only had a queen size bed so had to pay an extra 25 for a cot that had a mattress so thin you could feel everything bar and spring. It is dog friendly,but there is nowhere for your dog to even pee,it is literally blocks away on all cement streets. There is nowhere to sit and relax,it is literally a bed in a super tiny room.unfortunately I chose Easter weekend so I paid 200 for the room,25 for my dog,and another 25 for the prison cot. The train was especially nice...it's literally 20 feet away. Super 8 next time.

The staff wete wonderful and great at the hospitality regarding concierge perks we had no idea about! Please do not pay for parking until you check in with the hotel staff- they ended up helping us getting our money refunded When we parked in a more expensive parking lot, finding out that we actually only were to pay five dollars for the whole night because we were guests with them... We also got vouchers for their restraunts! Finally, hour night had a series of unfortunate events and the staff could not gave been more patient with the dysfunctions. Will stay again! Especially if you are staying on a budget and don't need much. Having a fridge in the room was also very convenient. Thank you!
