Planned a quick stay in St Augustine. The collector is a few blocks away from the "juice". Great time.
My husband and I had a wonderful anniversary weekend here. It’s not a fake-smile polished everything-perfect-all-the-time resort. It’s a historic site with beautiful old homes, and very thoughtfully decorated rooms. There is nothing generic about this place, but that means you also get some creaky floorboards, less insulation, staff that act human etc. We loved every minute of our stay and felt very well cared for. The property is serene, the pool is great, and The Well cocktail bar is a fun hangout spot with lots of games to play. All our fellow guests were very friendly, it felt like a little community. It’s easy walking distance to absolutely everything too, we used our car just once in 4 days. Highly recommend!
Absolutely beautiful courtyard very serene. My issue comes with the room/considering themselves a luxury hotel. We were in Worcester room w203. Very poorly done patch job done on the ceiling... I understand theyre older dwellings but the job done on the ceiling is just not good. As well with the shower with little to no grout causing mold to grow in it. As well as the tv being damaged and having leds fail in the tv causing spots in the TV (I forgot to take a picture of this.)Yes, as others have said their is little to no sound proofing so you can hear everything inside and outside the dwellings. I wish they'd also of offered some sort of curtains for the windows you sleep in as the shutters dont fully block out the sun (would also potentially help with noise reduction!) Overall id more than likely stay again as it was nice being able to basically walk anywhere we needed too. Just wish it was a bit cheaper than what they charge for nightly rates. Be aware as well they charge 25 a day for valet and 25 a day for amenities. Front desk staff was very nice as well as the valets.
This is a BEAUTIFUL property with well manicured grounds and the perfect location to downtown shops and restaurants. It appears there is a staffing problem as service was lacking. Staff was friendly but weren't providing "luxury" service. The one day we asked in the morning on our way out for our room to be cleaned, when we returned several hours later it still hadn't been done. "All day coffee" wasn't a thing as the pot was out mid afternoon and early morning it wasn't even warm, appearing that it was the same batch from the previous day. They also promoted ice cream sandwiches available but were out when we wanted some. Overall we really enjoyed the property. It had a great vibe and beautiful grounds but overall didn't meet the level of luxury in our opinion.
Stayed at the hotel for a long weekend with my husband and LOVED the hotel. It had a beautiful garden and pool, the staff is super friendly, the rooms very clean, and have to mention the continental breakfast- delicious! My husband was obsessed with the mini omelettes and smoked salmon. Billy at the front desk was very kind and helpful and had great recommendations. The music played in the common areas is super relaxing. I can’t wait to be back!
Beautiful grounds with gardens pool and unique on site bar The Well. Walkable to the historic district. Do not need a car after checking in. Try to take the hotel history tour. Excellent history of collector homes and personalities of historic owners.
Room dirty, bed held up by cinder blocks and accumulated dust underneath bed and side tables. The carpets were old/dirty and the sofa worn and torn. Certainly not a luxury inn. The valets were the standouts as they were both friendly and professional. I’ve offered photos to the Collector with my review but never received a response. They appear not to be interested in honest reviews or improving. Certainly not worth the price!
