Our second stay at Lions and Lanterns and again, we could not have had a better experience. This is a wonderful inn. In many ways it feels like you’re staying at a friend’s house. We’ve stayed at 3 other properties in St Augustine and this is our favorite. No question that it’s our number one choice.

We so enjoyed our stay! Our room was very comfortable and quiet. The decor was so sweetly done and I could tell a lot of love went into it. We enjoyed having morning coffee on the covered porch. The location is within walking distance to St. George Street. We will definitely stay again!

We had a wonderful long weekend here. The inn is close enough to walk most places and offers on-site parking so you don't have to search for parking upon your return if you do end up driving somewhere. The rooms are charming and so much more personable than a hotel room. It had everything we needed for a relaxing visit and the upstairs porch was the perfect place to enjoy morning coffee while we figured out our plans for the day. Josie and her team are great at making you feel welcomed and at home!

We usually prefer hotels but took a chance on something different for our trip and it did not disappoint. The rooms are very unique and the location is far enough out to be peaceful but close enough that we walked mostly everywhere we wanted to go. The available parking at the property was a big selling point for us. The staff offered a lot of personal touches and services that we didn't really take advantage of however they were appreciated. We would absolutely stay here again when we return to the area.

This is the kind of place that makes you want to come back before you’ve even left. My wife and I stayed two nights at Lions & Lanterns for our anniversary, and it’s the rare kind of place that exceeds what the photos suggest. The Castillo room is beautifully put together. You can tell real thought went into the furnishings and details, not just a decorator checking boxes. Robes, quality toiletries, a good-sized refrigerator, comfortable seating. The bed and backlighting are simply gorgeous and the centerpiece of the room. The smaller touches are there too! Notecards you can write to each other, seal them and they will be mailed to your home a year later. An awesome touch for an anniversary stay. That’s a thoughtful idea executed well. The location is one of those things you don’t fully appreciate until you’re there. Quiet street, walkable to the historic district, and (this matters more than it sounds in St. Augustine) free private parking in the back. The fire pit and landscaped sitting area out front gave the place a neighborhood feel that a lot of inns try to manufacture and can’t. This one earns it. Highly recommend, and we’re definitely coming back to try a different room.

Excellence exists in the details and Lions and Lanterns knows it. So much care and thought have been put into every square inch of it. If you prefer character and charm to cold and franchised, please book your St Augustine getaway at Lions and Lanterns. You won’t regret it! The rooms are absolutely beautiful and so unique. Isabel is gorgeous and I found myself taking pictures of all her features in hopes to recreate them in my own home one day. The location is perfect, too. Right in the historic district, you are just a few minutes’ walk away from St. George Street. On top of all of that, Josie was so kind and accommodating. She has made Lions and Lanterns amazing and should be very proud of her work.
