Before sharing this experience, I want to note that we were encouraged by four different hotel staff to contact the General Manager, Aaron Peaslee, because the situation was so out of control. It has now been a month, and I have called four separate times requesting a return call and have received no response. That lack of follow up is extremely disappointing, as I made every effort to address this directly before leaving a review. Our stay started out very positive. The hotel itself is beautiful, the front desk staff were kind, informative, and accommodating, and we had a great experience with the valet. It really felt like it was going to be a great stay. Unfortunately, several issues came up that changed that impression. In our room, the shower only produced one temperature, which was extremely hot. There was no way to adjust it or get any water pressure unless it was scalding hot. We asked to switch rooms but were told none were available. We also experienced a few service issues, including delayed requests and lack of follow through from staff. While those things were frustrating, the most concerning part of our stay was the experience at the pool. When we went to the indoor pool, there were five children, approximately ages 4 to 10, and two adult women. The children were screaming, running, throwing shoes and other items into the pool, and doing backflips off the side while the adults stood by recording. We tried to stay in the deep end and out of the way, but items were being thrown close enough that we were nearly hit. The situation escalated when the children began picking each other up and throwing each other into the pool. They then threw a young girl into the water who clearly could not swim. She stayed under water longer than she should have and was visibly distressed. Eventually one of the boys jumped in after her, but the rest of the children and both adults stood there laughing and pointing at her. The little boy brought her out of the water and she could barely breathe. It was extremely upsetting to witness. Staff did come into the pool area multiple times and asked the group to leave, but they were met with resistance and attitude. The maintenance man, Al, who was very kind to us also got involved and attempted to address the situation, but the group still refused to leave. What happened next was absolutely unbelievable. The young girl vomited in the pool. One of the adults used a net to scoop out what she could, but the pool was never closed or properly addressed by staff despite being informed by another hotel guest. All of this chaos happened within about 30 minutes. Other hotel guests came and left because of the situation. Everyone was clearly uncomfortable. We got out of the pool and moved to the hot tub to get away, but shortly after, the same group allowed the child who had just been sick to get into the hot tub with other guests. At that point, we left the area entirely because we no longer felt comfortable or confident in the safety or cleanliness of the space. Afterward, we were told by the pool attendant and maintenance man, Al, that one of the women in the group worked at the hotel and had been given a discounted room block for a birthday celebration, and that this behavior had been happening throughout the week and affecting multiple guests. It is very concerning that a situation involving safety and sanitation was allowed to continue, and even more concerning that follow up after the fact has been nonexistent. I hope the hotel takes these concerns seriously and puts better safeguards in place so that future guests are not put in a similar position.

This boutique hotel was so nice in the lobby and the rooms. My only complaint was tge elevators- because there is a gym in the basement i think the seat permeates into the elevator leather pad wall, and it smells like BO. The staff was nice, the safe in the room was nice, wish there had been more than one chair. I did not eat in restaurant, but the lounge was nice with pool table. Great hot shower and loved the brand of shampoo and conditioner.

Spotless, great food, friendly staff!

Very nice hotel, having a art gallery was a different touch. Pool and hot tub were very big. Rooms had a masculine feel. Toiletries were also masculine. Didn't hate it, but it was a different touch.

It's truly best in class. I loved my stay. The hotel is beautifully restored, had a well-equipped gym, and was simply a fun place to stay. My only observation is that the immediate area could use some economic growth. I hope the neighborhood develops over time, which would elevate the hotel even further as a crown jewel for the city.

I visit St Louis for work pretty frequently, and this is now my favorite hotel. The vibe is very good, the cafe and communal areas are beautiful and fun, and the bar and restaurant are great. Dinner at Idol Wolf is delicious and the service is very friendly. This is going to be my hotel for future work trips.

A true pleasure staying at this hotel. The staff are welcoming and kind, the rooms were clean and very comfortable and dinning/drinking in the bar a great end to the day. Stellar amenities in the pool/spa area, Highly recommend the onion soup and burger. Would definitely come back.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!! Went to check out the museum art and was so impressed with the exhibits there. I want to stay a night or two at some point!

Despite what I suspect was a poop stain on the wall in our room, this is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. The pool, hot tub, saunas, and fitness centers were particularly top notch.
