Disgusting. Lovely welcome at the front entrance in smokers ally. Had to walk through a storm cloud of cigarettes smoke to get into the lobby. There was a sign at the check-in desk that said something about parking in the orange lines, not the yellow lines or you will get towed (I'll try and include photos), I asked the woman at the desk if where I parked was correct and referenced the sign, her response was, "don't focus on that" and then she said "ID and credit card". Then I had to go back through smokers ally to put a parking pass in my car (I filled out all my car information and uploaded a photo of my DL prior to arrival...but OK. I weaved my way to my room through piles of dirty bedding and bags garbage lining both sides of he corridor. When I entered the room (website stated 100% non-smoking property) my room reeked of cigarette smoke and there were ashes all over the bedside table. I marched to the front desk and was informed "housekeeping must not have cleaned that wing of the hotel" the woman working informed me she is the only one here at night, no facilities people, no housekeeping and there is only so much she can do. I had total empathy for her while at the same time I was not happy with the situation. I decided to self-medicate with a shitty 2 glass bottle of red wine they sold in the lobby for $22. The screw top bottle was presented covered with dust. When I opened it, it seemed to have fermented because it sprayed all over me and my shoes. I have no shame and admit I am drinking the putrid wine as I write this.
Our stay started on the wrong foot when we were given a room that was dirty and unkempt. We immediately requested to leave, but were persuaded to stay after being promised a room upgrade. What happened next was completely unbelievable. During our stay, a front desk employee named Robert entered our room without our knowledge or permission and took our dog out for a walk. At some point during this unauthorized interaction, our dog was injured. We returned to our room to find it in complete disarray, with what appeared to be our dog’s blood throughout the room. When we confronted hotel management, they confirmed that Robert’s actions were against hotel policy, yet they were unable to provide a clear explanation as to why this happened in the first place. The situation escalated to the point that police became involved, and we no longer felt comfortable or safe remaining at the property. As a result, we cut our stay short and left a night early. Despite everything that occurred the unauthorized entry into our room, the injury to our dog, the involvement of law enforcement, and the unused night we paid for we were offered no compensation and no meaningful resolution. We are now left paying the full cost of our stay in addition to our dog’s veterinary bills. This was one of the most bizarre and disturbing hotel experiences we have ever encountered. We still have no real explanation for what happened and have received absolutely no accountability from the hotel. Edit: Hotel Manager Mitchell Kinney is currently attempting to shift blame onto us by claiming the hotel received multiple complaints from neighboring rooms regarding our dog. However, as stated in my previous comments, Robert informed us that our dog had barked only briefly and specifically told us there was no need to return to the hotel or take any corrective action. I assume, as is common practice for many businesses, that these phone calls were recorded and are accessible to Mr. Kinney. Those recordings should confirm what we were told at the time. His attempts to deflect responsibility for this situation are unsupported by the facts and inconsistent with the information provided to us by hotel staff during our stay.
Nice hotel. Quite and relaxing. The one thing it needs is a extraction fan to pull out some of the humidity in the room cause by the air conditioning and the bathroom shower.
This was a last minute booking that I did not fully vet out. Google rated this place as a 4star hotel. Not sure I understand that designatio. Maybe the restaurant and swanky looking lobby? In reality the room resembled a motel. Room was tiny and outdated. Rather then renovation you could tell there were layers of paint masking dirt and grime. The bathroom was nasty. Soup dispensers falling off the wall and mildew gathering in corners. Thankfully it was just an overnight. Not worth the price.
