The Parkview Hotel

I stayed at the Parkview Hotel for one night on March 29 while travelling. The website makes it look like a grand, historic hotel, but the reality didn’t live up to that impression. The room looked similar to the photos, but the combined air conditioner/heater had a red “clean filter” light on the entire time and was quite loud. It made it difficult to sleep, and I woke up several times coughing, likely from dust coming from the unit. Not something you want after a long day of travel. Breakfast was disappointing. There was no milk or cream for the coffee, just a couple of pumps of Coffee Mate. The selection was minimal, and the egg option looked like a pre-made item and honestly looked unappetizing. The gentleman at the front desk was pleasant, but he wasn’t able to recommend any nearby restaurants, which was surprising. Overall, based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. On a positive note, I did find an excellent Italian restaurant nearby, Apizza Regionale, which ended up being the highlight of the stop.

Absolutely fantastic! Very clean. Felt a bit historic but in a good way- kept updated, clean and maintained but had charm! Every single staff member we encountered was genuinely friendly and kind. you can tell they take good care of their staff because their staff takes good care of guests and seem happy. Expedia messed up our room bookings but they went above and beyond to accomodate

Conveniently located if there is a family member who will be a patient at one the the downtown Syracuse hospitals.

This is now my second time staying here, and I love it. The rooms are very clean and kept up. Lots of space as well. The service is very friendly and the breakfast options are plentiful. It's an easy walk to Syracuse University and to downtown Syracuse as well. I would absolutely recommend staying here when visiting Syracuse.

Thank you to all the staff. It made me and my Husband feel so comfortable. He had to go to the hospital for a procedure at Crouse Hospital. We live 3 hours away. The hospital rec recmmended the park view hotel it is very close to the hospital. I was lucky park view hotel is super staff friendly. And the atmosphere was amazing. Even the house keepers were so kind the breakfast was delicious every thing was so clean. II had extra charges on my account. I made my reservations through Agoda (couldn't remember when driving home, upset about the extra charges). I had a charge from them and a direct POS charge from the hotel, which the bank handled. The hotel denied it was them, even though the bank statement showed otherwise. The manager seemed to try to help, but kept stating it was from Expedia. I do not know if she was honest in her cluelessness. Expedia told me they're scapegoats all the time. I'm not sure who to believe. The manager showed me an Expedia PARTNER database. I assume it may be a central PARTNER database with Expedia, but she kept saying 'Expedia'. I called Expedia, and they stated it was not from them. Agoda stated they only had the one original charge. I never made a reservation that night with Expedia. I don't care in the end as long as it disappears. However, I am not sure of the honesty there. Next, when we checked in, we were with other families, and we had to wait a long time in the front doorway for someone to come. Then, when 3 of us checked in, we were given a dirty room. The family behind us was given the same dirty room as ours, even though it was STILL assigned to us. The front desk kid said he should fire the cleaning person for lying about the rooms, as he was unprofessional. The cleaning staff is also not the one who put two families in one dirty room. He did give us a clean room after, but I still wonder if that is the direct POS charge from the hotel. I never leave reviews unless it's a great or bad stay. I will stick with Marriott for now and not try to save a buck.

3 stars for the room only because it reeked of cologne for some reason. Very cute in a historic way, free hot breakfast and parking was nice.

Service was okay. Woke up with someone else’s sock in my bed. Room wasn’t clean. Will not be back and do not recommend.

I stayed there after work since we were supposed to get a good amount of snow. Room was clean, shower had great water pressure and was hot, parking was ample and easy to figure out, and staff at the desk were friendly and helpful. Will be staying there again if need be!:)

My son and I stayed here recently for a college visit to Syracuse. The rooms were nice enough and it was in a great location, not too far away from campus. It's a historic hotel but doesn't feel old or run-down in any way. We were disappointed in the breakfast as it featured a waffle maker, cold eggs and sausage, some toast/bagels, yogurt, and juice. I guess I just expected more. I had read in previous descriptions that the front desk staff seems to disappear during checkout and our experience was the same. When I went to check out, there was a small line of people who had been waiting for 15 minutes or longer. I just left my room keys on the desk and hoped for the best--I didn't have time to wait for someone to get back to the desk. I would certainly stay here again, but realize that the breakfast and the hotel staff is a bit less than you would hope for.

The toilets in this hotel do not function. My family went to the hotel a few months ago and the toilet was clogged and then went again this past weekend. None of their bathrooms worked either time. There is 1 person working at the hotel and there are 8 floors. At least the first time , under old management, they at least had a plunger available. Shame they let this place go.

We booked a weekend trip for Saturday and Sunday. When we arrived we were told that our booking was actually for Friday and Saturday and we were "no shows". When we showed our confirmation email showing that no, we had booked for Saturday and Sunday we were told "well that isn't what we have." They offered no solutions, no apology and no explanation except to attempt to blame us for the mix up. We had even called to confirm earlier in the week and were told the correct dates. So we had no idea we had no room until we walked in the door. Their response to this was "I dont know how that could have happened." The front desk staff was unbothered, rude, and committed to trying to blaming us for a mistake in their booking system. Service was truly atrocious. Not sure what we could have done to prevent this as we did everything we could to make sure we had a room and still did not end up with one.
