About this place The Dupont Hotel

In Dupont Circle, this hotel is a solid landing spot for queer travelers hitting DC.

The place itself feels modern, a bit minimalist, but not cold. It’s got that sleek, contemporary look without trying too hard. Think a comfortable upscale vibe, not a stuffy one.

Dupont Circle is a good choice for a base. It’s been DC’s unofficial gayborhood for decades, so you’ll find plenty of bars and restaurants a short walk away. The hotel’s own restaurant is right in the thick of it, handy for a quick bite or a drink before heading out. The neighborhood's always buzzing, day and night.

And from Dupont, you’re connected to everything. The Metro station is right there, making it simple to get to the monuments, museums, or wherever else you need to be in the city. It’s a practical spot, well-connected, and you’ll feel right at home.

I had a wonderful and comfortable time visiting The Dupont Circle Hotel. Unfortunately, I attempted to reach out a number of times prior to my visit for important reasons to me as I was a solo female traveler and wanted to confirm some details prior to arrival and never heard back from anyone. I sent voicemail and calls with no response. I will not return to Dupont Hotel with so many other comfortable hotels in the area. The room was amazing, but to not be responded to by a small, family run hotel was highly frustrating. I would have changed my hotel for that visit if it were refundable.

I would avoid this hotel at all costs, if you care about your vehicle. While my vehicle was in possession of the valet their team damaged it and are refusing to pay. The hotel is not willing to do anything either because the valet service is run by a 3rd party company, which seems shady to begin with. I can pinpoint exactly on google maps where my vehicle was damaged, but they still refuse to do anything about it. As for the hotel itself. The rooms are dated and small. During our stay only 1 of the 3 elevators were working, not a huge deal. Doesn't hurt to get some steps in but for a hotel that claims to be 5 stars, it wasn't ideal. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel and advise that you avoid this place at all costs. Especially if you are planning on using the valet service. Unless you like you are okay with your vehicle being damaged.

Good for a one night short stay but not recommended for longer than that. Not worth the money. I rarely leaves a negative written review, but I feel strongly about letting travelers know about the deteiorating quality of this hotel. I have stayed here almost every time I come to DC for the past 5 years and the quality and service have noticeably deteriorated. Each time I stay in an executive King room. The local is great and convenient to either call cab or get on metro. HOWEVER: In my recent a few stays (not just the latest stay but a few times forming a pattern and trend), the carpet and and wall have obvious signs of stains. The bathroom no longer has body wash or body lotion. If calling the service or concierge, it took forever to get connected, if the phone was picked up at all. Even if the phone was picked up, it took very long - over an hour sometimes - for requested items to be sent to room. I would rather go downstairs and get it myself (small items I forgot to bring, such as a toothbrush or slippers). They have downgrade the toiletries from a major named brand to a lesser quality brand. What is really not a good sign is that the cups/mugs in room and the small coffee spoons had stains and marks on them. And the glass countertop on the desk in the room is dirty and oily. Maybe I just was unlucky with my stays at this place, but several times may suggest a trend.

OMG. I have found my happy place in D.C. The Dupont Circle was one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in a while, and literally reset my nervous system. The hotel bed was the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in, I loved it so much that I wanted to order it. To add to this, I booked a four day stay, and did not leave my hotel room for 2 days and felt so guilty. That is how much I enjoyed the room. Not to mentjon the shower soap was amazing and so intoxicating that i could shower with it everyday! The hotel staff, specifically the front desk were amazing and made me feel very welcomed. I have absolutely no complaints from the front desk to housekeeping. However, I did have one issue from the door man where he questioned me if I stayed at the hotel when I walked in, and it made me slightly uncomfortable, as if I didn’t belong or a person off the street. I started to say something but didn’t want to cause a scene or problems. The only issue I had in the room, was the tv in the room was a little slow and kind if difficult to use, but outside of those minor issues i have no complaints. And even still with those issues, I would choose this hotel every time. Overall, this hotel was phenomenal and look forward to booking this hotel again in the future!
